We are all very excited to have just arrived in Orlando; we’ve been waiting for this to come around since Christmas and can’t believe it is finally here! I thought I’d put a little post together to find out a bit more about Orlando and the things that there are to do there just to build the excitement a little bit more 😉
All my life I just thought of Orlando as the ‘theme park capital of the world’ but it seems that Orlando really does have something for everyone!
Shopping
The Florida Mall is Central Florida’s largest shopping centre and has more than 250 retail, dining and entertainment options to enjoy and if that isn’t enough to satisfy your shopaholic ways then head over to Orlando International Premium Outlets where you can shop at more than 180 outlet designer and name-brand outlet stores including Diesel, DKNY, J. Crew, Kate Spade New York, Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, UGG Australia, Under Armour, Victoria’s Secret and Thomas Pink.
Theme Parks
I am sure most people think of theme parks as soon as Orlando is mentioned. While in Orlando we will be visiting all of the SeaWorld Parks… SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Discovery Cove and Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark. These four parks have everything covered from some of the world’s best rollercoasters, swimming with dolphins, water slides, amazing shows, safari tours and so much more!
This year SeaWorld opened Mako, which is named after one of the ocean’s fastest known sharks. It is Orlando’s tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster. Which I am really looking forward to going on… if not slightly terrified 😉
Sports
If you fancy taking up a spot of sport while you’re in Orlando then you won’t be disappointed. Orlando is home to 170 golf courses & 20 golf academies, Hundreds of fishing & boating lakes and lots of beautiful parks if walking/running is your thing.
Nightlife
Whether you want an evening at the ballet, a visit to an ice bar or a casino cruise Orlando has it covered! Orlando is full of different dance clubs, live music, comedy clubs, pubs, local breweries and wineries!
Dining
Orlando has food for every taste and budget. The choice is unbelievable so make sure you are hungry! There are so many wonderful family themed restaurants to enjoy making sure the little ones are happy, if you are feeling particularly wealthy then why not enjoy one of the celebrity chef or AAA 4 or 5 diamond awarded restaurants.
So as you can see Orlando really does have something for everyone. I can’t wait to tell you all about our adventures when we get home 🙂

Exciting adventures. To me I’ve always just thought of theme parks
Hope you are having a brilliant time! My MIL lives in Florida so we have visited Orlando a few times. It really is more than theme parks though isn’t it? I love the wildlife and nature when you get off the beaten track. Enjoy! (:
You’re right I do think of it just as a theme park place but there’s obviously lots ore to do than just that. I like the dining and boating options.
Love Orlando, love the people, the weather, Disney, Universal studio. I want to go back one day. xx
Busch Gardens was one of our favorite theme parks when we went to Orlando. yes it is a little further afield, but we ALL loved it.
