Sally from Who’s the Mummy tagged me in her random blogger Q&A yesterday. She’s celebrating her blog being ten years old this year and This Mummy Loves… will be eight years old soon! So I thought I’d get answering these so you can find out a bit more about me. I don’t talk about myself too much on the blog or ever really so you might find something out that you didn’t already know 😉
When was the last time you cried?
Sunday when my bunny Merlin died. He was such a gorgeous little thing and I am going to miss him terribly. It wasn’t totally unexpected as he hasn’t been well for a while but still it is so sad.
If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
Yes I think so. I think I’m a good person, I try to do the right thing, I like to help people and am pretty reliable so I think those things make a good friend.
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Only when i’m awake 😉
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
How bright and happy they are, I am instantly drawn to people who have bubbly personalities and that is the first thing I notice about someone when I meet them. If they don’t have that light in their eyes then being quite a shy person I find it really difficult to connect with someone.
Scary movie or happy endings?
Happy endings definitely! I cannot deal with scary movies nowadays.
Babies’ heads has to be my most favourite smell in the world! I love the smell of freshly cut grass, coffee and my other half too 🙂
What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?
The Dominican Republic. Apparently it is 4,315 miles away from where I live.
Oh if only I was 4,315 miles away right now!
Do you have any special talents?
Well my other half says I have the touch of an angel because I can instantly decrease his stress levels by stroking his head or back 😉
I don’t think it is a special talent but I’m pretty good at reading things like emotions, situations or films. I always seem to know where a film or TV show is going before it actually goes there.
Where were you born?
What are your hobbies?
Reading, watching Netflix, eating out, learning to crochet and spending time with my family.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A midwife… I still do but things didn’t really go to plan and now I can’t afford to put myself through university. It’s the biggest regret of my live not having the confidence or support to go for it when I was younger.
How many countries have you been to?
Including this one just four, I didn’t leave this country until I was 30… I need to get out more 😉
What was your favourite/worst subject in School?
I hated Maths I found it so difficult! My top three favourites were English, RE and Child Development.
What is your Favourite drink?
Coffee or Pinot Grigio depending on the time of day. If it’s after coffee time then it’s Pinot Grigio time 😉
I’ve been getting in to Gin recently too!
What would you (or have you) named your children?
We don’t disclose the names of my kids on the blog so I’ll tell you what I wanted to call them 😉 Boo would have been Poppy if it was down to me but Daddy was not a fan. Bugs was impossible to name but I really liked Dominic for a while.
Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?
I don’t watch it, I don’t let my kids watch it anymore either.
How many Boyfriends have you had?
Two serious boyfriends and then some not so serious ;D
Favourite memory from childhood?
I have so many happy memories from my childhood. My parents did their best to make sure we had a great childhood… although not great haircuts 😉
I fondly remember our caravan holidays to Great Yarmouth, dad taking us sledging when it snowed, Mum just being so wonderful and caring, playing out with friends in the summer until it went dark. The 80’s were a great time to be a kid!
How would you describe your fashion sense?
Oh I’m all about the ‘throw something on so I’m not naked’ look. I’ve tried over the years to get some kind of idea how to dress myself but I just have no idea. I wish I was one of those people who look amazing all the time but really I’m ok just being in jeans and a jumper 🙂
Tell us one of your bad habits!
I chew my nails and bite the skin around them until it is sore. It’s the most horrible habit because I love to have nice nails!
