We recently spent two amazing weeks in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and had the most amazing time. We booked our holiday through Thomson and stayed at the Sensatori Punta Cana. I’ll be writing a full hotel review over on The Places We Will Go soon but I just wanted to share some of our holiday photos 🙂
The weather was amazing the whole time we were there, it rained twice during our stay but only for ten minutes at a time while we were indoors so it didn’t affect us at all. We spent two whole weeks just lazing around the pool or on the beach and eating gorgeous food.
On the first morning we all woke up about 4.30am so we made the most of the day and headed to the beach to watch the sunrise. It was absolutely gorgeous and such a treat for our first day.
The hotel was in a perfect location on a gorgeous sandy beach, it has two big pools overlooking the sand and ocean. *Heavenly
The sea was glorious, it was quite rough which was perfect for body boarding, Boo and I spent hours just floating around in the sea. Bugs wasn’t too keen as the saltwater hurt his eczema which was a shame, he didn’t miss out though as he loved the pool.
Our hotel was on the same resort as the Nickelodeon hotel which meant we could use Aqua Nick (for an extra charge) which is their water park. Aqua Nick is a great place to spend a day, it is a really safe environment so the kids could just go off and play on their own while I sat back, watched and had a cocktail or three. The food and drink at Aqua Nick was spot on!
We were lucky enough to meet Patrick Starfish while we were at Aqua Nick… we did meet Spongebob too but I think Patrick was a fav with us all 🙂
The kids went off to kids club a few times which meant me & James could enjoy a few drinks on our own. It was really lovely to just have a few hours to ourselves knowing the kids were well taken care of.
It really was a holiday that I have dreamed about and we could not have had a more wonderful time.
It was so lovely to spend so much time as a family and not have to worry about daily life or do any chores, everything at the hotel is done for you, the food is amazing and you feel so well looked after. The staff are so friendly and always willing to help. I can’t wait to go back again one day. This was our first ever all-inclusive holiday and I am totally hooked! We are hoping to go to Jamaica next year… so excited! 🙂
That is two more things crossed off my things to do before I turn 40 list. Still a few more to do though yet 😉
