I mentioned last week that I had started a new diet and exercise regime and that I’d be back to tell you about it and how I have got on during my first week!
So first the diet…
I only recently discovered this diet after seeing it in the Kindle store The 5:2 Diet Book, my sister Cathy mentioned the fasting diet to me back in August and I just said something like you’re bonkers and I thought nothing more of it until I downloaded a couple of weeks ago! Everything in the book struck home with me and so I thought I’d give it a shot! The idea is to eat as you would normally for 5 days a week and the other 2 days you fast… you don’t actually fast you just eat around 25% of your recommended daily calorie intake for those 2 days. Most people stick to 500 calories but i started by allowing myself to go up to 600 if needed!
I can honestly say I LOVE THIS DIET! I did my third fast day yesterday and I find it so easy to restrict myself to 500-600 calories! I know this diet won’t be for everyone and there will be some people out there who are TOTALLY against it but I actually love it and I am really starting to appreciate food so much more and it makes me think about what I am eating on a normal day too! But it is early days yet so we will see how I continue to get on with it! If you are interested at all the book was only a pound or so on the Kindle store and definitely worth a read! Personally I have felt happier and more focused on a fast day so far so I’m really keen to continue! James expected me to be really angry on a fast day because I would be starving, so he was really surprised that I was full of smiles! The food that you do eat on a fast day you really really savour, enjoy and look forward to!
The exercise…30 Day Shred & my weights.
My Mum bought me Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred [DVD] for Christmas. I had been doing Davina Fit [DVD] and Davina Intense [DVD] up until last week. Which I really love but I just completed day 8 of the 30 day shred today and I am totally addicted to it. Here is my diary of the first week.
I found it really easy. I think it is because I have been doing lots of workouts so my body is used to it. Looking forward to day two.
Ha ha this morning wiped the smug smile of yesterday off my face! Oh my God my legs are killing me. I thought it was too good to be true. I am to dreading doing day two now! – Managed to get through day two in agony!
Legs still killing me but better than yesterday!
Much less leg pain today and I sailed through it!
Day 5,6, 7 & 8
I love love love this work out! I am pushing myself so hard with it and feel incredible! I can really feel my legs and arms toning up already! I cannot recommend it enough! Really looking forward to moving onto level two!
After a week of following both of these I have lost SIX POUNDS! I am amazed and feel incredible! I am really excited by this and am looking forward to seeing my progress at the end of the 30 days 🙂
