Last week while we were on holiday in Devon we visited The Milky Way Adventure Park for the day. We went on a wet day so were unsure that there would be enough to keep the kids occupied but we needn’t have worried as there was plenty to keep them entertained indoors. When you arrive you are given a leaflet with a map and all the ride and show times which is very handy. The whole place is set up for adults too so don’t worry Mum & Dad you get to go on everything 😉
It did brighten for an hour so they managed to have a ride on the Crazy Caterpillar rollercoaster but that really was the extent of their time outdoors. They were very sad that they didn’t get to enjoy the jumping pillows, zip wires and the maze but only actually realised they had missed out on those on the way home as they were too busy having fun!
The first things we did during our day was visit the Piddler Countryside Collection which was fascinating, it looks back at how Devonshire farming families used to live and work! The kids loved being able to sit on all the old tractors and were amazed at the rooms that were set up how they used to live.
From there we had a very bumpy ride on the Droid Destroyer Dodgems. We had a fast ride but throughout the day they will slow it down for the younger ones so they can have a go too! I’d suggest this for little ones as it is very bumpy otherwise, but only I came away with a big bruise on my knee 😉
The kids favourite part of the whole day was playing in the Time Warp Adventure Play Area and probably spend most of their time zooming down the slides! Not one of us braved The Black hole but we did enjoy the other two 😉
It wasn’t just slides there were ball pools, rope walks and soft play too! Not a chance of anyone getting bored in the slightest! I got to enjoy a little of the free wifi too while they played happily.
Boo enjoyed playing Archery and was very excited when she got a certificate! There is an extra charge for archery which I think was £3 for 12 arrows which I think is very fair. They both enjoyed the Laser Target Shooting with Daddy and had a few goes at that.
There are shows going off all day too! From Birds of Prey to Juggling workshops; there really is something for everyone! We all loved to watch the Glass Sculpting, the kids were especially amazed by this and stood watching Kristine creating little glass dogs for ages.
We also spent time painting pots, there is also an extra charge for this but I only paid £10 for three pots and the kids really enjoyed it as did Daddy 😉 After we had finished painting we left them to dry and collected them before we left, they had been bagged up ready for us to take home.
The last ride we went on was the Clone Zone Alien Interactive Ride which is a lot of fun. The space guide beams you aboard the mothership and once onboard you explore the alien spaceship, encounter aliens, fly the suspended rollercoaster and try to find your way back to Earth. That is a whole lot of fun and the kids especially loves the rollercoaster ride.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our day. The facilities were all clean and tidy. There is a cafe and a restaurant at The Milky way Adventure Park but the Galactic Cafe only opens during school holidays. We didn’t eat in the restaurant as we took a picnic. There are indoor and outdoor picnic areas. The gift shop is very well stocked and not too expensive, it sells a wide range of toys and gifts, ice creams and drinks.
We had a fantastic day out at The Milky Way Adventure Park and will most definitely be going back again next year when we return to Devon. We stayed at Croyde Bay for the week and the drove to The Milky Way Adventure Park which is situated just off the A39 10 miles from Bideford and was about a 40 minute drive.
So if you are looking for a great day out in Devon head to The Milky Way Adventure Park we had so much fun and there is MUCH more to see and do that we didn’t manage to fit in!
* We received complimentary entry into The Milky Way Adventure Park but will happily pay full price on our next trip as it really is such a great day out.

Looks like you had a fab day out! I’ve never been to the milky way park, but I will next time I’m over that way x
Oh my word this sounds like such great fun, what a fantastic time you all had. Our daughter would absolutely love it 🙂
Mine would be disappointed to miss the jumping pillows and zip wires too but what a fabulous place to visit
Ooh fab to know there is plenty to do on a soggy day – we certainly get plenty of them don’t we!
Oh yes lots of fun and it doesn’t look lie it was busy either, which is a bonus. Mich x
I love play parks like this, where there is just so much variety and fun no matter what the weather. Thank you for the tip – we’re in Devon reguarly so will look it out next time.
It’s always a bonus when there’s lots to do indoors, so you are not relying on the weather. I love the idea of wifi too! 😉
Sorry they didn’t get to do the outdoor stuff but seems they have a lot to do regardless of the weather.
Seems like a very fun place – you wouldn’t get my son (or me) off that slide!
oh how fabulous not heard of this one looks great
This place looks and sounds amazing, I would be right on that slide x
First time I have heard of this place, the slides do look very cool though!
Lots of great activities! Off to Devon next year so will remember this.
It looks and sounds wonderful. It’s always great to hear of adventure parks to take the kids when on holibobs. Anywhere with a big wavy slide gets the big thumbs up from me.
What a fun sounding place to spend some time. x
This place looks great Sonya. Love a good day out with the kiddos – assuming they’re all behaving 😉 Devon and Cornwall are full of these kinds of places. Great for everyone.
Ooh anywhere with dodgems would suit my two 😉
This looks fab x
This looks like fun – obviously plenty to do indoors when the weather is bad, which is always a bonus on a holiday.
It is fab that there are shows all day too. I would bee fascinated by glass sculpting, and the Alien ride looks like something my son would enjoy. A super day out!
