Sponsored: World Baking Day 17th May

Did you know that it is World Baking Day sponsored by Stork on the 17th May, I only found out about it yesterday and as I rarely bake I decided I would make the pledge to make my family’s favourite Lemon Drizzle cake on that day! I’ve never actually made one and tend to be a bit useless when it comes to cakes but I’m going to give it a go regardless! It’s the thought that counts; isn’t it? 😉

Why have I chosen to bake for my family? I choose this day to bake for my family because I hardly ever bake for them and I haven’t been the easiest person to live with recently so this will be just another little way of letting them know just how much I love them!

I love the idea of World Baking Day and think we should all be doing little acts of kindness like this all the time. Giving to other people is one sure fire way to make me a much happier person! If I am successful in making my cake and it doesn’t end up just a pile of crumbs then I may do this for someone more often… the only problem with me baking is that I would usually eat it and right now I’m really trying hard to lose weight so as long as I focus it on someone else then I should be OK 😉

So if you would like to take the pledge too and make someone’s day a bit brighter then head over to the World Baking Day website to find out more. There are lots of lovely recipes that you might like to try that look amazing, especially the chocolate Guinness cake and the chocolate brownies… it’s making me want to start baking just by looking at them!

Don’t forget to join in with the World Baking Day community on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, where you will be able to share your photos of your baking.
