Hi, it’s Dawnie Brown (Sonia’s sister) here from Knees Up Mother Brown. I’m here with my guest reviewer hat on today reviewing some rather fabulous slippers I have been sent from Shepherd of Sweden.
When it comes to feet, I probably have the coldest ones you could imagine. My feet are always cold and at this time of year I’m usually wearing at least three pairs of socks and even then I end up with cramp or frozen feet. Slippers are therefore something which I cannot live without and I must get through a pair every 2-3 months as I live in them at home.
I was very kindly sent a pair of Marlene Slippers to review and my toes would like to say thank you for them J I figure if you want a cure for cold feet then a Scandinavian company will know exactly what is needed.
“Shepherd’s new autumn/winter range of indoor and outdoor footwear for men, women and children, combines classic Swedish design techniques, with comfort and quality to create naturally trendy footwear.
Each design is hand made and consists of 28 separate parts, individually put together. A pure, natural product treated in 10 different stages then skilfully hand finished through more than 36 varied processes.”
I love these slippers, they really are the warmest slippers I have ever owned and I have ditched the socks! I actually prefer wearing these slippers bare feet as they are so snug and toasty. They feel really well made and I’m expecting them to last much longer than my other slippers which I tend to wear out within weeks. I’ve been wearing these ones for about 3 weeks now and they are still in excellent condition.
One thing I have noticed, is that with previous synthetic material lined slippers, they have really dried my skin and caused eczema but these sheepskin linings have really improved my dry skin and my feet are much happier for it. I’m putting it down to the natural materials.
I’m considering investing in some of their outdoor boots now as I don’t see why I should be confined to toasty toes whilst indoors. A pair of their outdoor boots will make winter so much more bearable for me!
You can buy Shepherd Slippers in the UK from Jones the Bootmaker and http://www.oliverbonas.com and if you are looking for some really good quality and toasty slippers for a Christmas present for someone this year then I would highly recommend them.
