Our top 10 reasons why you should visit the SeaWorld Parks

Adventures/ sponsored/ Travel/ trip review

This August we had the opportunity to visit all four of the SeaWorld Parks in Florida, we had such an amazing time and I wrote about all of them separately on our return but today I wanted to give you our top 10 reasons why you should visit the SeaWorld Parks. If you don’t know the SeaWorld Parks they are SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Aquatica and Discovery Cove. We all loved each of the parks and if you are planning a trip to Florida then we would highly recommend you add them to your itinerary. Each park offers something completely different but every single one of them is a fantastic day out for all the family. So here are our top 10 reasons why you should visit them…

Boo tries out the Mako seat at SeaWorld

Mako is a brand new roller coaster at SeaWorld for 2016 and in all honesty is probably the scariest thing I have ever done. It was the first roller coaster I had been on in over 20 years so maybe I was a little over sensitive. My other half said it was the best ride he has ever been on! Regardless of whether you will love it or hate it you just have to do it! It is the tallest, longest and fastest roller coaster in Orlando! On Mako you are fastened by a lap guard that keeps you secure while providing complete upper-body mobility for a thrilling ride. It’s almost a mile long, reaches speeds of up to 73 MPH and the highest point is 200 feet tall.

Cheetah Hunt is a launch coaster at Busch Gardens, instead of slowly climbing the hills on most coasters you are launched up them at high speeds. Cheetah hunt is quite a tame coaster that makes it a perfect introduction to coasters for younger children. Boo had her first experience of going upside down on Cheetah Hunt and really loved it… so much in fact Cheetah Hunt was her favourite ride of the whole week.

Falcon’s Fury is North America’s tallest freestanding drop tower. Standing at 335 feet tall, the views at the top are incredible! Once at the top your seat pivots 90 degrees so that you are facing the floor and then you are plunged straight down at 60mph! At the top you can enjoy the amazing views over Busch Gardens and the rest of Florida… if you dare to open your eyes that is 😉

Falcon’s Fury at Busch Gardens

Dolphin Lagoon at Discovery Cove is where you can tick off swimming with dolphins from your bucket list. Accompanied by a trainer you get to spend around thirty minutes in the water learning about the bottlenose dolphin, you get hugs, kisses and an amazing dorsal fin tow across the lagoon. It is truly amazing, the highlight of our time in Florida.

SheiKra was my favourite ride of the week, it is a floorless dive coaster at Busch Gardens where you climb 200 feet to the edge of a 90 degree drop and are held there before being dropped at 70 MPH! It was over far too soon for my liking.

SeaVenture is an underwater walking tour at Discovery Cove and something you really must do! The tour length is around 20 minutes after having a 15 minute safety briefing where you will learn how to use signals for underwater communication, this is incredibly important for the tour guides to know that you are feeling happy underwater. You get to walk along with the beautiful fish and rays, get to handle some unique sea life and watch the fish have a feeding frenzy right in front of your eyes.

Shark’s Underwater Grill at SeaWorld

Sharks Underwater Grill at SeaWorld is absolutely amazing! The food is just gorgeous but what makes it truly amazing are the floor to ceiling windows into the shark tank. This is a wonderful opportunity to get up close to the shark and have uninterrupted views of the sharks whilst enjoying your lunch.

Ihu’s Breakaway Falls is Aquatica’s newest attraction and is the tallest and steepest of its kind in Orlando. You climb the 126 stairs to the top (almost 80 feet high), step into a capsule and wait for the floor to drop from beneath you! While standing in the capsule there is a countdown and a heartbeat sound that makes the anticipation slightly more terrifying. Once you drop you experience free falling for a few seconds and plunge at 20-24 feet per second. I unexpectedly loved this ride and wanted to go on again and again.

Serengeti Safari at Busch Gardens

Serengeti Safari at Busch Gardens makes you forget that you are at a busy theme park! It transfers you to the Serengeti Plain to experience a guided tour of the animals that live there. It goes without saying that our favourite part of our tour was feeding the giraffe. It was so incredible to get so close to them! On the safari you get to see so many incredible animals and the guides are so knowledgeable so make sure you ask lots of questions. Serengeti Safari is an optional Park Extra.

Dolphin Plunge is another of Aquatica’s awesome water slides but this one takes you through a pool of beautiful black-and-white Commerson’s Dolphins, which is amazing if you are lucky enough to spot them. This was Bugs’ favourite ride from our time in Orlando.

So these are just ten reasons (there are so many more) why you should visit the SeaWorld Parks in Florida, have you visited any of them? If so, what was your favourite experience?

I find the lap guard rollercoasters more scary as you don’t feel as secure in them. I so want to take the kids to florida!
