This weekend I spent the weekend in London with my big sister Cathy from Wishful Wonderings attending #BML16. This weekend wouldn’t have been possible if it had not been for my wonderful sponsor Moon & Star Books, so I just want to say a HUGE thank you to them before I tell you all about my weekend.
Moon & Star curate unique lists of beautiful children’s titles for busy parents who might not have time to sift through the millions of kids books out there; you can sign up to their newsletter over on the website to find out when new books are added. All of the children’s books on the website are brand new and under £5 (lots of the titles are £1.99/2.99)!
On Friday night we headed over to Camden Lock to the Britmums Fringe Party at Holiday Inn. We were treated to some free drinks and nibbles while we had the chance to mingle with some old and new blogger friends. It was a really lovely setting by the lock.

After the party we headed back to a bar near to our hotel and had a few drinks before going back for a dirty burger at the Travelodge! Which was probably the nicest burger I have ever had! (Why does some food taste so good when you’re a
bit lot tipsy!)
After a rather rubbish night’s sleep in the world’s hottest hotel room we made it on time for the beginning of #BML16.
I enjoyed going to a few sessions during the day and chatting to some lovely people. I attended the travel blogging session, Pinterest and Sketchbook club. Sketchbook club was my favourite by far as it was very relaxed and we just got to do some sketching! I am definitely going to be signing up for Jennie Maizels Sketchbook Club very soon!
I met the author of this book at the weekend after she had told her story to hundreds of parents on stage at #BML16 I sobbed for her and the thought of losing my own children. She is such an amazing woman and does so much good work in her daughter’s name. Please read about Martha and buy the book and support #whatmarthadidnext xxx #5742days
I bought this book during the day after listening to the author Anne-Marie Cockburn tell the story of her daughter Martha who died after taking Ecstasy. She is such an inspirational lady and I urge you to read about her cause and buy her book 🙂
Lunch was really lovely and there was lots of cake and goodies to enjoy through the day. I really wish there was more places to sit and chat indoors though! I loved getting to design my own ice cream flavour and was amazed at how it was made so quickly. Coconut, chocolate and pistachio was a great choice! Yummy!
These meringues were served for dessert and they were delicious! Don’t they look amazing 🙂
I bumped into lots of old bloggers friends and met some awesome new ones during the day. It was a really long day and I was exhausted my the time it came to the Bibs, we stayed till the end though and then basically collapsed into bed. I was fast asleep by 10pm!
On Sunday morning we were rudely awakened by the fire alarm at 5am after another dreadful night sleep! After that I was desperate to get back home to my little family and return to normality.
I did have a really great weekend. I loved the social aspect of #BML16 and will be looking to go to more “social” type blogger events in future. I do love learning about things but I find myself more able to do that online without the distractions.
A big thanks to Britmums for putting on another great event 🙂
