Mumpreneur Feature – Marianne

competiton/ giveaway/ Mum in Business

Marianne from Travel with Tots is on the blog this morning to tell you about herself and also has a fab giveaway for you too 🙂

Who are you?
I’m Marianne, married mum to the gorgeously cheeky one year old Lucie, and owner of a really badly behaved dog!

What do you do?
I run the Travel with Tots website along with another mum and travel-enthusiast! Travelling is more fun with little monsters! We offer lots of advice on family friendly destinations, as well as some fantastic products to make globe-trotting with the little ones just a little bit easier.

When did you establish your business?
The business was set up in Spring 2011.

What made you start your own business?
Essentially it grew out of not wanting to stop travelling across Europe and beyond simply because we now had little monsters in tow. We wanted to create a space for parents to come to visit to find all they would need for their adventures!

What do you love about working for yourself?
Absolutely everything from the flexibility in the hours to the satisfaction of working on a website and products that I am really passionate about.

Is there anything you do not like about working for yourself?
No, the only frustration sometimes stems from realising how many hours there really are in the day: NOT ENOUGH 🙂

Is there anything you would go back and do differently if you could?
No, everything happens for a reason and any setbacks or problems are lessons well learnt. A crucial part of running a business for yourself.

What advice would you give to a Mum considering starting her own business?
Don’t hesitate to ask for help (with housework/ childcare…) and try and network as much as possible. Social media is a fundamental aspect of online businesses!

Marianne has also got a fab giveaway for you; She would like to offer one of these gorgeous Smockas to one of my lucky readers.

The Smocka is a unique and practical modern take on a familiar traditional garment with a retro twist.

It is a durable top, with a waterproof pocket made especially for little people who like to collect things. Each Smocka is made from a wind resistant fleece that is anti-pill, making it perfect for the great British outdoors!

It also folds away with the pocket around it, leaving a neat waterproof pillow. It is designed to be over-sized for longevity of use and is aimed at Pre-schoolers!

The lucky winner can choose from one of four different designs…
