Mumpreneur Feature – Jo *Win a £10 Voucher – CLOSED*

competiton/ giveaway/ Mum in Business

The lovely Jo aka @spendlessmummy is on the blog with us today. Jo has recently launched her own Phoenix Trading Business and is here to tell you a bit about herself and her new venture. She is also offering one lucky reader a £10 voucher to spend on any products through her site. I am sure many of you will have heard of Phoenix Trading – they sell a beautiful array of cards and gift wraps.

You can visit Jo’s Phoenix website here Please Note: as part of Jo’s launch month she is donating 15% of sales in June to SANDS – Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society. She will also give free delivery to my readers for your first order if you state the discount code ‘MUMMYLOVESFREEDEL’

Who are you?
I am Jo, 29 years old from Devon and new mum to Lily aged 7 months.

What do you do?
At the moment I am on maternity leave from my job as a Finance Analyst for a large corporate company. But more interestingly I have just launched my own Phoenix Trading business selling high quality cards, gift wrap and gifts.

When did you establish your business?
I have only been trading since May – this is a new venture for me but one I am really excited about!

What made you start your own business?
I am due back from maternity leave in October and as the time approaches I realise more and more that I want a career which fits in around my daughter. Although I have only just started, my aim is to earn an income from Phoenix Trading which allows me to work less hours in my day job. Who knows, perhaps one day I can become a full time trader!

What do you love about working for yourself?
I love the flexibility of being able to work while the baby is napping, and in the evenings. I also love the feeling that everything I am doing will reward me and my family in the long term.

Is there anything you do not like about working for yourself?
Well at the moment I am in the honeymoon phase but I expect that there will be times that I will need a kick up the backside and a shot of motivation!

Is there anything you would go back and do differently if you could?
So far, nothing. Ask me again in a year 🙂

What advice would you give to a Mum considering starting her own business?
Believe in yourself and just do it. As a new mum on maternity leave my confidence was low but I have already surprised myself with what I have achieved!

To enter to win a £10 voucher to spend at Jo’s Phoenix Website all you need to do is take a look at the website and let me know your favourite product or what you’d spend the £10 on if you’d win!

For an extra entry you can tweet the following – “I want to win a £10 voucher for Phoenix Trading on @SoniaThorpe Blog”

Please leave a separate comment for each entry and don’t forget to leave either an email address or twitter id so I can contact you if you win!

Good luck – the winner will be drawn on 30th June at 8pm – UK entries only please xxx

I've already got a lovely greeting cards box from Phoenix so I'd use my £10 to stock up on cards.
