I have just this minute found out about Micro Scooter’s – Scooter Aid and had to blog about it instantly!
Micro Scooter’s are asking anyone who has an old, unused or broken Micro Scooter that is no longer wanted to return it to Micro Scooter’s free of charge so that they can mend and safety check it and then send it on to Tumaini Children’s Home in Kenya, which is an orphanage for children whose parents have died of aids. Many of the children have the disease themselves; they have few if any toys and stay in the same location with the same routine for 365 days a year!
The plan is to send 60 scooters to the orphanage. This would allow each child at the orphanage to have their own scooter which Micro Scooter’s would present to them at a Christmas party in December 2012.
If you are willing to donate a scooter all you need to do is;
– box and/or wrap the scooter (they can only accept their own Micro scooters)
– print out a free returns label here and stick to your package
– take the scooter down to the post office (there is no cost to you for returning the scooter to them)
– pat yourself on the back for doing a really, truly wonderful thing.
If you have any questions, problems or queries please do give Micro Scooter’s a call on 0333 320 1030 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org
These photo’s have made my heart melt and it makes me wish That I had a Micro Scooter to send; I haven’t unfortunately so I am hoping that in writing this post that it will enable one of my lovely readers to perhaps donate one or even just share this post – the more people that know about it the more scooters Micro Scooter’s can take with them to the orphanage xxxx
