#LittleLoves – Homeland, Lemon Drizzle and Half Term

I can’t believe Friday has come around so quickly this week! Bugs was poorly at the start of the week and had a couple of days of school so I spent those two days not doing a great deal and just making sure the little dude had plenty of hugs, he was like a little hot water bottle 😉

I am so pleased that it is finally half term! I can’t wait to spend some quality time with the kids next week it feels like it has been too long.

Here is what we I have been loving this week…

I’m still trying to get through Sweet Little Lies and Small Great Things but I’m just struggling a bit for reading time at the moment. I’ve been going to bed a bit too late and then not felt like reading. I really must start getting a few earlier nights. I think I am going to have to subscribe to Audible because even though I will only get to listen to one book a month at least I will be able to do it while I am doing other things.

I just watched the latest season of Homeland on Netflix and it was awesome. I haven’t watched it for a couple of years so had forgotten a lot of the plot and kept having to go back to jog my memory on previous seasons but it was really good and now I am itching for season 7.

If you haven’t see any of Homeland it really is worth watching. I think the first two seasons were the best but it never fails to keep me on the edge of my seat. It’s actually something I could quite happily start watching all over again!

I managed to get another free book on Audible this week so I chose to listen to The Keeper of Lost Things by Ruth Hogan which was just an absolute pleasure. It’s not the best book ever but it is a lovely story definitely worth a read.

I made the most delicious Lemon and Lime Drizzle cake at the weekend. I haven’t done any baking for ages and now I remember why… because if I bake it I eat it!! 🙂

I got the recipe from Jane’s Patisserie; I’ve made so many things from her website now and they have never failed me. We will be making the Easter rocky road soon because that is just too die for!

I’ve been wearing my new Hotter boots which came the other day. I bought them from JD Williams as I had a 20% discount and free delivery code so I got them for a bargain £76.00 instead of £135 which they were priced at on the Hotter website.

and Lastly…

Yay we break up for half term today! We were going to go away but we have had to change plans as we’ve got to clear out the flat we own and rent out because we exchange contracts on it today. Fingers crossed all that goes well because it has been such a burden on us for the last ten years. So it’s going to be a busy weekend and then hopefully we will have some fun days out next week. Have a great Friday everyone x

Oh I am just the same with baking, I always scoffed the lot! Since our dairy and egg intolerance diagnoses I’ve hardly baked at all. I do miss it, but it’s way more of a faff trying to work with subs for egg, etc.
Hope you’re having a lovely half term x

Your lemon drizzle cake looks yummy. The keeper of lost things is on my to read list, eventually I will make my way through all the books I have brought or downloaded.

The keeper of lost things is on my wishlist, it sounds like a nice read. I only got back into reading last year after a huge break, I started off reading 1 chapter a day which I found easy to find time for. I have a couple of pairs of Hotter shoes they are so comfy aren’t they. Have a great half term x #littleloves

That cake looks delicious! I daren’t bake anything these days or I’ll just eat the lot! I’ve got The Keeper of Lost Things waiting for me on my kindle, it’s one of those I’ve wanted to read for ages but never got around to. Hope everything with your flat goes well and have a great half term! x
