Disclosure – We were invited to spend the day at the SnowDome free of charge so we could experience the Toboggan day tickets for ourselves and tell you all about our day.
Yesterday we spent a very busy active day at the SnowDome in Tamworth experiencing the new toboggan day ticket. The day ticket includes swimming with the inflatable & flume, a toboggan session and ice skating. Priced at £20.70 for adults and £19.70 for children which we think is brilliant value for a fun-packed day.
First up was swimming, you get an hour and a half swim session included with your day ticket so a decent amount of time to enjoy the flume and the inflatable a few times. The inflatable (pictured at the start of the post) is a tough cookie to crack! None of us managed to do the whole thing but we all gave it a good go. Some people made it look so easy… no idea what we were doing wrong but we had a lot of fun trying!
Once we were dry we headed to the Aspen Food Company for lunch, this was rather a rushed affair as after we were dry we only had half an hour to get food before our toboggan briefing started. Food arrived 15 minutes before the briefing so we had to rush it down and ended up leaving what we couldn’t finish so we didn’t miss out on our toboggan slot.
If we went back for another day then we would either take food with us or eat after our toboggan session and miss a bit of our ice skating. However the food was delicious and so much better quality than we expected, so well worth finding the time to enjoy a meal there.
Next up was our 30 minute toboggan slot, which we managed to squeeze 4 goes into. James and the kids would have liked a lot more… but for me it was enough! I crashed my toboggan every single time and came a way with quite a few bruises. It was an awful lot of fun but make sure you pay attention to the safety briefing before you have a go because understanding how to control your toboggan really will benefit you and give maximum enjoyment! Even with the bruises I still had a lot of fun 😉
Make sure you wrap up warm for tobogganing as it really is very chilly and you’ll probably benefit from a spare change of socks and trousers especially if you fall off your toboggan a few times 😉
Last but not least was our ice skating session which was 2 hours long. It was Bugs first time ice skating so he had one of the special aids to assist him but he was soon wanting to leave his polar bear friend behind as he quickly found his feet. I love ice skating, I had forgotten just how much as I hadn’t been for well over 20 years! I’m dying to go back again now! It was such a great atmosphere with the lights and the music and everyone was really friendly. Boo enjoyed speeding around the outer skating track with all of the other capable skaters while I stayed with the boys.
We had a brilliant day out at the SnowDome and would highly recommend the toboggan day ticket, it is such great value for money. Trust me you will all be ready for a good night’s sleep when you get home.
If tobogganing isn’t for you then check out the climb day ticket for a fun packed day of climbing, flume & inflatable swimming and ice skating.
