February 16 – This Mummy Loves…

This Mummy Loves.../ TML Monthly

I can’t believe it was September when I last did this feature on the blog. I think I was so busy getting sorted for Christmas and doing Christmas Gift Guides that I forgot about this. I’ve always loved doing this though as I get to tell you about some fab products that we’ve been sent and also what I’ve been watching/reading for the last month or so. I’ve got quite a lot to tell you this month so grab yourself a cuppa and have a read 😉

If you would like to have a product featured in the March edition of This Mummy Loves… please send me an email to to see if your product is suitable.

Here are some products that we have loved this month…

Playmobil Easter Eggs

We are huge Playmobil fans and just love these alternative Easter Eggs, a must for any Playmobil fan this coming Easter! There are four colours available… blue, pink, yellow and red. We received the blue egg which contains a pirate on a treasure hunt and the yellow egg which contains a zookeeper with an alpaca. My kids have a huge boxful of Playmobil and  it is played with so much, it is always the box that is pulled out when friends come to play. You can buy these eggs from the Playmobil website for £6.99 each.

How awesome are these? Ice pops for adults! They are really delicious, perfect for a treat on a hot summer’s day while you’re cooking food on the barbecue! They are available in three flavours… Apple, Blackcurrant and Lemon & Lime. You just pop them in the freezer like regular ice pops and wait for them to freeze.  Check out their website for more details.

Yankee Candle

I just love Yankee Candle and after getting engaged at Christmas I thought this would be the perfect one to burn while I’m planning my wedding day 🙂 Wedding Day is the current favourite of the month so there are some really great offers over on the website. This large jar is reduced to £16.99 from £21.99 so really worth getting while it’s on offer 🙂

Just 4 Kids

Boo is loving these new natural deodorants that she has been sent to try, she’s been using deodorant for quite a while now as she is very mature for her age. She was using a rock salt deodorant before but she hated it as she had to wet her underarms to use it so it really wasn’t convenient. These Just 4 Kids deodorants are perfect! They smell great, are reasonably priced and best of all they don’t contain any nasty chemicals so you can rest assured that you are buying the best for their delicate skin. There are four fragrances available… Sea Breeze, Strawberry, Green Apple & Vanilla Cream and they are currently £3.49 over on the website. I would highly recommend this product if you are looking for a kid friendly deodorant.

Deluxe Dish Drying Mat

I used to get through tonnes of kitchen roll because I used to lay it on my worktops and put all my wet dishes on it to dry, I don’t need to do that anymore after getting my hands on their fab Deluxe Dish Drying Mat from JML Direct. It is really absorbent and apparently can absorb nearly a litre of water! It’s perfect for when I was all my wine glasses 😉

Vosene Kids

We’ve been a fan of Vosene kids for a while now, anything to help keep those nasty lice away. I use the defence spray every morning on Boo’s hair as it is waist length now and really does need help being detangled after being slept on and she hasn’t had lice for years now! Some of the new products they have out look really great, head over to their website and check them out 🙂

What I’ve Been Watching

Since September I have watch so many things I really don’t know where to start. Currently I’m addicted to 24 on NowTV, there are 9 seasons though so it is going to take me ages to finish them all. Just before Christmas season 6 of The Vampire Diaries came to Netflix so I had to watch them! I do love anything to do with vampires or witches. I also watched Jessica Jones on Netflix which was awesome, I’d highly recommend it! Pretty Little Liars is also back with weekly episodes so I’m enjoying those too, although they are dragging it out a bit now!

The kids were really excited that The Stick Man was released on DVD last week and have watched it a few times since getting it. They really love the story and often choose it as their bedtime story.

From the creators of the hugely successful The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom comes Stick Man, a beautifully animated film based on the much-loved picture book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

Join Stick Man on his incredible journey across the seasons as he runs from a playful dog, gets thrown in a river, escapes from a swan’s nest and even ends up on top of a fire. Will he get back to his family in time for Christmas?

An exciting and heart warming adventure with the voices of Hugh Bonneville, Rob Brydon, Martin Freeman, Sally Hawkins, Jennifer Saunders, Russell Tovey.

What I’ve Been Reading

I set myself a challenge this year to read all the books that I own and am now on my 4th book so far. I didn’t do very well with my book a week challenge last year but I’m hoping to complete 44 books this year and then I will donate them all to charity and buy some more 🙂 So far I have read…

Eleanor & Park – Rainbow Rowell
Shopaholic to the Rescue – Sophie Kinsella
Finding Audrey – Sophie Kinsella
The Girl in the Spider’s Web – David Lagercrantz

I think my favourite of the four had to be Eleanor & Park, it is such a wonderful easy to read love story, I could not put it down! I love finding a book like that, it was totally unexpected too which made it even better! I also loved Finding Audrey which is Sophie Kinsella’s newish book, it is actually written for teenagers but I didn’t realise that when I bought it – it was such a lovely story and another that I could not put down.

So I’ve started the year off well by reading 4 books just another 40 to go 😉 I’m sure it won’t be too long before I cave in and buy a new book or two though… it is so hard as I just love buying new books and I keep seeing people posting their fav’s online and I just want to buy them ALL 😉

Well that’s all for this month, don’t forget to contact me soon if you have a product that you would like to see in my March edition!
