Dreaming of a Lovely Home.

Our house is in desperate need of some TLC. We have lived here for 10 years now and haven’t really done a great deal. It’s been hard having two small children and James working full-time (all the hours God sends) we just haven’t seemed to be able to get anything done. Plus the fact we thought we would be moving for almost 3 of those years didn’t help.

We have always wanted to move to Australia and I have spent so much time dreaming about that and looking at houses for sale in Brisbane that we have kind of put our life on hold here. We can’t do that any longer, our house is falling to pieces around us and things haven’t happened how we have wanted them to. There is still time to live our dream but I want to live in a lovely house until that happens.

So this year we are on a mission to get our house in order and make it more of a home. The kids are older now and far more independent and don’t tend to draw all over the walls and furniture anymore.

I am totally addicted to making Pinterest boards for my dream home so I’m going to share a few of them with you today.

I think one of the first things that I want to do is get some new flooring down because our floors are dreadful, really cheap carpets and lino that the previous owners put down. I dream of gorgeous solid oak wood floors throughout the house with beautiful tiles in my kitchen and bathroom.

I’m desperately looking for new ideas for our kitchen and bathroom because these are also things that are going to be sorted soon. In fact work starts on our bathroom on June the 6th so it would be great if you’ve had a new bathroom or kitchen done yourselves to hear some recommendations for companies that we could use as I’m really a bit lost when it comes to all this.

I’m really excited about making our house a home it’s been a long time coming and I really want to put our stamp on this house. So keep an eye on the blog as we show you how we transform our house into a home.
