Disney on Ice Magical Ice Festival Review

Adventures/ day out/ Review/ Theatre

A couple of weeks ago we got to go and watch the Disney on Ice Magical Ice Festival at Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena. We love Disney on Ice and have enjoyed it a few times before but I have to say that I think the Magical Ice Festival was my favourite one so far. I took a friend and our three girls and they did not move out of their seats the whole time.

The show covered Beauty and the Beast, Tangled, The Little Mermaid and for the first time Frozen! It was all just fantastic but it was wonderful to see Anna, Elsa and Olaf the snowman! I was actually covered in goosebumps when the whole of the audience started belting out ‘Let it go’ and ‘Love is an open door’  It was truly magical – we will definitely be booking for the next tour as soon as it goes on sale!

The show was incredibly well done, the skaters were fantastic and there were lots of oohs and ahhs from the kids and some lovely funny moments too from Olaf and Sebastian from The Little Mermaid! I love to see my old favourites Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy, they come on in between the acts to introduce each one.

As always the food and merchandise was really expensive so we didn’t buy anything but we did go prepared with popcorn,  sweets and drinks. I did buy the show guide which was £10.00, it is a nice keepsake for Boo and something she could take to school for show and tell 🙂

Unfortunately the Magical Ice Festival tour is over now but keep an eye out for the new tour ‘Worlds of Enchantment‘ starting in September 15.

Check out the preview to see what you missed though and make sure you get booked for the next tour 🙂

* We received free tickets for the show in exchange for this review. All thoughts are my own and completely honest.

I bet watching the Frozen part of the show was fabulous. We went to see a Disney on Ice performance a few years ago when the main act was Toy Story 3. I was blown away by how professional it all was. I suppose that’s Disney for you!

I’ve heard so many good things about this show. A pity that we didn’t get to it, but we’ll look out for similar spectacles.
