Clevamama Memory Foam Baby Pillow Review

Review

I was recently sent a Clevamama Memory Foam Baby Pillow to review and have to say I was very sceptical about this product at first after having it drummed into me for so long about the danger of babies and pillows!

Simple Safety Solutions reassured me that it was indeed safe to use –

“The concern with young babies and pillows is the fact it can lead to positional asphyxiation –  with the baby’s head being arched up slightly by the pillow and thus cutting off the wind pipe – as the memory foam pillow ‘moulds’ the head of the baby it doesn’t move their head up and therefore doesn’t have the same risk associated (they are safe to use).”

I happily agreed to test and review it and have to say we love it 🙂 Bugs sleeps happily on it and looks so snug and comfortable! I use it around the house during the day too when I am changing his nappy or if he is just lay on the sofa. It isn’t a very big pillow so it will fit in his pram or crib too!

I’m not sure if Bugs would have developed flat head if he didn’t use it but he certainly hasn’t got it now!

It doesn’t come with any pillow cases; they can be bought seperately but we just wrapped a muslin cloth round it and then it was easy to change if he was sick in the night.

The Clevamama Baby Memory Foam Pillow reacts to the heat and weight of a baby’s head by softening and moulding itself to its exact shape, therby offering optimum support and pressure relief.

Using the science of Visco Elastic Memory Foam, the memory foam pillow will protect the round shape of your baby’s soft head helping prevent and aid with the relief of Flat Head Syndrome (Plagiocephaly).

This memory foam pillow is also specifically designed to keep the head and the baby’s spine in the correct position.

Overall this is a lovely little pillow – I had never heard of them though before I was approached to review it & never realised that flat head was a problem! Would I buy one of these? I guess I would only have considered buying one if flat head was a problem and they were recommended by my health visitor or if I had researched online and found that they helped; otherwise I wouldn’t have considered buying any kind of pillow for my babies.

Sonia, I like the look of this memory foam pillow because of the beveled edges. No sharp drops at the edge of the pillow to bend baby's neck. But just so your readers know, don't buy a memory foam crib mattress for any child under 1 year old!
