Christmas Gift Guide 2015: Food and Drink

Christmas Gift Guide/ Food & Drink

November is here and that means I can start talking about Christmas! Yippee! All the family birthday’s are over for another year so I can relax and start thinking about what I am going to be buying for Christmas this year.

As soon as I think of Christmas I think of food & drink; is that just me or is everyone the same? It’s the time of year when we get to be a bit more luxurious with our food and drink choices and I always love to buy food and drink gifts too.

So without further ado I bring you my food and drink Christmas gift guide…

Graffigna Centenario Malbec – £9.99 & Brancott Estate Classic Sauvignon Gris – £10.99

If you are looking to gift a nice bottle of wine then these two (I can confirm) are really nice wines. They are not something that we would ever have picked up in the shop because we tend to stick to what we know but I would happily buy these again, they made a lovely change and if you bought me the white you’d have a friend for life 😉

This award winning Sauvignon Gris is the first ever from the world famous Marlborough region and offers fresh flavours including luscious pear, blackcurrant and nectarine with a lengthy citrus finish. Availability: Tesco, Ocado and Asda.

The Graffigna Centenario Malbec is a complex and rich red wine with dark berry flavours and a hint of black pepper. Availability: Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Ocado and Nisa.

Cadbury Celebration Hamper = £50.00

Cadbury Gifts Direct has a huge selection of gift ideas for Christmas from selection boxes, biscuits and hampers full of your Christmas favourites. You can even get some of your chocolates personalised or why not build your own hamper to make an extra special gift 🙂

Christmas Selection Box Hamper - £20.00

Christmas Selection Box Hamper – £20.00

I always buy lots of selection boxes at Christmas because “Christmas isn’t Christmas without a section box” even I must have a selection box every year 😉 I’ve always loved these stocking style boxes so I’ll be buying a couple of these hampers instead of traipsing round the shops at the last minute 😉

Lovechock is handcrafted using the best raw cacao from Ecuador and the bars are sweetened only with natural coconut-blossom nectar and are totally dairy, soy and gluten free.  There are seven delicious flavours to chose from, so you can find the perfect fit for your loved one this Christmas: Pecan/Maca, Pure/Nibs, Goji/Orange, Almond/Fig, Pineapple/Incaberry, Mulberry/Vanilla and Cherry/Chilli.

Tangy Orange WILD Vodka Liqueur £21.95 per 70cl & Damson Gin Liqueur £16.45 per 35cl

I really enjoyed trying these products from Raisthorpe Manor, the Raisthorpe Manor’s stylish products are crafted in North Yorkshire using forgotten fruits and the finest local ingredients such as damsons and sloes. Made from traditional family recipes, they’re ideal for innovative Christmas gifts.

My favourite is the Tangy Orange WILD Vodka Liqueur; it is absolutely gorgeous. I’m not one for drinking liqueur so I was quite surprised to find that I loved it. I’m now really intrigued to try the 9ct Blood Orange Vodka Liqueur Shimmer and the 9ct Toffee Vodka Liqueur Shimmer, they sound so amazing!

Goodies from Bill’s

When I went to Bill’s Restaurant earlier this year I loved all the products that they had for sale so I just had to include them in my gift guide. The products all look amazing, you can buy ready-made hampers, make up your own hampers or just treat yourself to some individual items. Make sure you head over to the website and have a look; I could do ALL of my Christmas shopping there 🙂

Bill’s Red Velvet Cupcake Truffles add a touch of added sophistication to an American classic. With a white chocolate and vanilla icing centre, they are coated in velvety milk chocolate and finished with freeze-dried raspberries. RRP £11.95

Bill’s Dark Chocolate with Salted Almonds are handmade for Bill’s by Prestat. The perfect stocking filler for chocolate nuts, this sweet treat is made with toasted and salted almonds folded into rich dark chocolate. RRP £2.50

Bill’s Bramble Berry Infusion tea is a blend of summer and winterberries, including blackcurrants, blackberries, rose hips and strawberries, packed into a pretty pink tin. This relaxing infusion is a great gift, a calming drink, just right for the hectic festive season. RRP £5.95

Shloer Celebration – White Bubbly £2.99

Sparkling juice drinks brand Shloer has unveiled a brand new look for Celebration this winter. Packed with all the same bubbly tastiness, the fresh bottle style takes inspiration from popular sparkling wines like Prosecco to offer those not drinking something a little more special to raise a toast with at festive occasions in 2015 and into the New Year.

Topped with the signature popping cork, the new look Shloer Celebration is ideal for enjoying in a chilled flute by the fireside with loved ones over the holidays. Whether you’re a mum-to-be, designated driver or just having a night off from drinking alcohol, you can still enjoy a delicious glass of bubbles.

Coffee Syrups Gift Set – £6.95

This adorable gift set of little bottles (5cl) of speciality coffee syrup are available to buy at Patisserie Valerie stores or you can buy individual 70cl bottles in about 100 different flavours from www.nextdaycoffee.co.uk or www.syrupsandstuff.co.uk. I personally love the gift set as you get to sample a few before deciding exactly which ones you’d like to buy. Take it from me though; the Chocolate Cookie and the Hazelnut are amazing!!

There is just one thing to say about this and that is ‘AMAZING’ – I have never had hot chocolate like it! I’ll be getting some more of these and adding one to the kids Christmas Eve hamper this year too! I don’t think I’ll ever buy powdered drinking chocolate again!

A perfect gift for cider lovers made by Cornish Orchards available from The Eden Project Shop, if you haven’t checked out their shop before you really must! It is full of really lovely gift ideas for everyone 🙂

When I was in my teens I worked somewhere that used to stock Cottage Delight products and it was like being in heaven! Their products are just delicious and make the perfect gift.

Something we have to have in the house every Christmas and it makes a lovely gift too! Did you know Panettone is a classic Italian Christmas cake, made with candied fruit and sultanas?

Well that certainly has given me a good few ideas of some of the gifts I’ll be getting people this year, what about you? Do you have any food & drink traditions that you buy for yourself or as a gift?

More Christmas Gift Guides coming soon 🙂

My husband is Italian, so we always have panettone as well as Christmas pudding. The Christmas stockings in our family always have a satsuma and some nuts at the bottom, for some reason!

I still find it far too early to think about Christmas but having said that I do like your selection. Living in France it might seem crazy to hear that I miss Cadbury’s chocolate so personally I love those purple pictures!
