We love books, really love them! So it goes without saying that the kids will find lots in their stockings again this year and I have found some really awesome ones to share with you, they are in no particular order and for no particular age, just really great children’s books…
DC Super Heroes Origami is perfect for grown-ups and kids to while away the dark winter days, and there’s a strange satisfaction in doing origami, to produce that perfect 3D model from a simple sheet of paper. This book has all the paper included in it and the step-by-step instructions to make 45 superhero folded models. Watch the trailer here… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Df85PQ1V4Y
These wearable books are totally amazing and so much fun! The kids will find them hilarious if they find them in their stocking this year! The Book-O-Beards and the Book-O-Masks are the must have books this year!
Make sure you check out the #wearablebooks hashtag on Twitter to see them in action and you can also watch the trailer here… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33S2vT2S3Ss
I was very excited to find out that Magic Light Pictures, the Oscar-nominated entertainment company, will be bringing the much-loved children’s picture book Stick Man to the screen this Christmas as a festive highlight on BBC One. We are massive fans of Julia Donaldson so cannot wait to watch the Stick Man, make sure you have a copy of the Stick Man so you can all follow along with the story when it is aired 🙂
The Jolly Christmas Postman has to be our favourite Christmas book of all time and well worth adding to your children’s book shelf. Mine have spent hours reading this book and love all the little extras like the peep show and the jigsaw. It’s such a lovely idea, we haven’t actually got The Jolly Postman so will be adding that to our collection this year as I’ve heard it is as good if not better than the Christmas one 🙂
Bugs loves Marshmallows for Martians, Pizza for Pirates and Doughnuts for Dragons so I can’t deny him Socks for Santa this year. He was so excited to see that it was being released earlier this year so I think he will find this in his Christmas Eve box for his special bedtime story 🙂
The Polar Express is another wonderful book that should be in every child’s library. It has such a wonderful story… I believe, do you?
Any book that has poop in Bugs finds just completely hysterical, I think it’s a boy thing because I find The Dinosaur that Pooped Christmas quite disgusting but I love to hear him laugh 😉
If your kids are Minecraft fans then they might just be fans of Stampy, Boo has been asking for Stampy’s Lovely Book since it was released a few weeks ago and I am sure it will be on many other Christmas lists this year too!
Boo loves Diary of a Wimpy Kid and cannot wait to get her hands on Diary of a Wimpy Kid Old School which is the tenth book in the series.
Last but not at all least is Grandpa’s Great Escape by David William’s. This is another one she has been itching to get her hands on since it was released in September. She loves all of David’s books and I have heard this one if great too.
If you have any great book recommendations for children then please do tell me in the comments as one can never have too many books 😉

Aw, Stick Man! It’s great that they’ve brought out a new edition, and that it’ll get an airing on TV. We’re going to see it performed on stage this weekend, too.
What some great looking books – I remember reading The Jolly Christmas Postman each year as a child. x
Stick Man is one of my son’s favourite books. I have been looking at some Christmas stories this year as I thought it would be nice to snuggle up with and read together.
