Christmas Gift Guide 2016: Advent Calendars

Christmas Gift Guide

Today it is time to start thinking about Christmas here at This Mummy Loves. We LOVE Christmas and find the build up so exciting, that’s why I put together this Advent Calendar guide because I just love the kids running downstairs excitedly every morning in December to open their next door and I want to share what I have found with you all! Over the past few years we have had quite a few different Advent Calendars and each year I like to find something new for both kids and grown ups… you’re never too old to have an Advent Calendar!

If you love cosmetics then you will LOVE this Technic London Bus Cosmetic Advent Calendar (£14.95) containing 24 cosmetic goodies. We just love the design and can’t wait to open our first door! Perfect for teens!

If you have never heard of Wentworth Wooden Puzzles then do check them out, their puzzles are absolutely beautiful. We just love that they have made an Advent Calendar puzzle (£25.00) where you can add a stand up character every morning to create a beautiful scene for Christmas. Perfect for puzzle fans… young and old!

This Thorntons Classic Collection Advent Calendar (£10.00) is one that I might just be keeping for myself! It has 24 doors and contains a selection from Thorntons milk, white and dark favourites. Perfect for chocolate lovers.

The Cadbury Dairy Milk Advent Calendar (£4.99) has a special place in my heart! We have them every year because we simply love Cadbury chocolate. This year Cadbury have produced a large Advent Calendar and some of the chocolates have a vanilla flavour filling… fingers crossed they’re just as good! Perfect for Cadbury Fans.

This Christmas Tree Advent Chest (£15.00) was on our Advent Calendar guide last year and we loved it so much I wanted to share it again because they are still being sold. They are great for filling with your own little treats. I think it looks so pretty and I can’t wait to fill it again this year! I’m still undecided about what to put in it though. Perfect for kids.

I love Play-Doh, I actually want this Play-Doh Advent Calendar (£14.99) for myself! There is nothing better than having a new pot of the stuff to play with! This calendar contains a play mat,  5 pots and behind each door is a different surprise. Perfect for pre-schoolers.

For a bit of luxury every morning you need to treat yourself to this Charbonnel et Walker Chocolate Advent Calendar (£50.00). It has 25 boxes with individually wrapped milk and dark chocolates, some of the flavours you can expect are Lemon, Praline Noisette, Cecily, Menthe, English Violet… sounds heavenly doesn’t it? I’d be saving mine until the end of the day to enjoy when the kids are safely tucked up in bed 😉  Perfect for Mums.

If you have £130 to spare and love a little tipple then this Chase ’24 Days of Christmas Spirit’ Advent Calendar is perfect for you! It contains 24, 50ml miniatures from Chase Distillery. The flavours sound delicious… Williams Pink Grapefruit Gin, Chase Elderflower Liqueur, Chase Rhubarb Vodka, Chase Marmalade Vodka and many more! Perfect for alcohol lovers.

If you are a No7 fan then the No7 Bright Lights Big City Beauty Calendar (£39.00) will be a dream for you! I know these are really popular and are usually sold out within days so make sure you pick one up pretty quickly! They went on sale today so be quick! Perfect for beauty lovers.

I LOVE Molton Brown and so wish that I have a spare £150 lying around so I could buy this Molton Brown Scented Luxuries Advent Calendar! I especially love the sound of the Pink Pepperpod candle! This certainly would be a real joy to open every single morning! Perfect for me 😉

I constantly have candles burning around the home and always love a nice Advent Candle (£8.00). The kids love to watch it burn down to the next number each day 🙂 Perfect for everyone.

You really mustn’t leave out the pets at Christmas so make sure you pick up on one these Good Boy Dog Treat Advent Calendar (£3.99). Perfect for you furry canine friend.

Another one for alcohol lovers is this Whisky Advent Calendar (£149.99) containing 24 different 3cl samples of high quality Whisky; ranging from artisanal brands, popular market leaders, award winners and a number of choice new releases. Everything from single grain to a rare Scotch worth up to £600 a bottle! Perfect for Dad.

I hope this gift guide gives you some inspiration. Make sure you check back for more gift guides coming very soon. 🙂

I’d love to know what you do for Advent? Do you treat yourself to a lovely calendar, make one or something else?

I really want a cosmetics advent calendar, sadly a bit out of my price range though 🙁

Oh my daughter would probably kill to get her hands on the play doh one! Must admit that I’ve been eyeing up all the make up ones this year. I’m not sure I can justify the cost but they do look great!

The jigsaw puzzle ones sounds great for those of us will allergies in the family. Bob would be bowled over with that one.
I am sure the 14 year old granddaughter would love the make up one.
I would forget the candle was lit and it would burn longer than one mark knowing me.
    Great guide.

I love advent calendars, I was tempted by the chocolate ones but I’m more swayed by the Chase Spirit Calendar with an interesting tipple each day. Probably not best to open it first thing in the morning.

We have a fabric advent calendar which the elf fills with a choccie treat for each morning. My auntie made it so it is a bit of a family tradition. Of course we still have the cadburys ones and usually a lego one. I had the no7 one last year and it is great value for the products you receive. I love the sound of the jigsaw one though it is a bit different. x

I LOVE the jigsaw one and can see it coming a family tradition over the years. I feel a bit weird about advent calendars with big gifts in as I think it detracts from the real meaning of Christmas, however, I am not that much of a humbug I would stop anyone!
