The Original Sunjellies Review

Review/ Yummy Mummy

I’ve fallen in love with a pair of shoes! I feel like a kid again and I can’t stop looking at my feet! I was sent these awesome silver glitter Sunjellies last week and I haven’t had them off my feet ever since!

Photo 09-05-2014 14 04 51

I was so so happy when I realised they did my size, not many places bother with my big old size 9’s so I was totally over the moon! They fit perfectly and I just love them so much! Usually I struggle even to fit in a size 9 because my feet are quite wide too but these are a really lovely fit! No rubbing or digging in! I could literally wear them all of the time!

Photo 09-05-2014 13 48 33

Everyone who sees them comments on how they used to love theirs when they were a kid and they really must get themselves and the kids some!

Photo 10-05-2014 14 45 57

Perfect for beach life but also I just wear the all the time! They look so cool and at £14.00 they are an absolute bargain! I aim to have a pair in every colour by the end of the Summer and the kids too 😉 There are 21 different colours for adults over on the website and 16 for kids currently! There is definitely a colour for every single outfit! I think the black are next on my list 😉

Photo 18-05-2014 14 52 56Pop on over to the website and have a look for yourself. They sell adults Sunjellies in sizes UK1-UK10, Kids sizes UK 4-13 and now they are selling the lovely jelly bags that I use to covet so much when I was little!!

Love these shoes… Click here to read more about the lovely lady behind Sunjellies 🙂

Updated 25th July 2014

I just want to update to say that since reviewing these I have bought myself another pair, my daughter two pairs and my son one pair! We absolutely love them and highly recommend ordering from Original Sunjellies 🙂

Lily Charmed Earrings Review

Review/ Yummy Mummy

Last year I reviewed a lovely necklace from Lily Charmed and this year I have been very lucky to receive a pair of their beautiful new silver heart stud earrings to review and I am so happy with them!

Photo 07-03-2014 13 22 12

All Lily Charmed come in a beautiful presentation box. Lily Charmed have only just introduced earrings to their range and I can tell that they are going to be a big hit!

Photo 07-03-2014 13 22 59

Gorgeous heart earrings in polished sterling silver, they are also available in matt finish. I would happily buy these earrings as a gift for someone, they are fantastic quality. I also love the jigsaw piece earrings on the Lily Charmed website.

Photo 07-03-2014 16 00 09

I really love these earrings, they are a lovely size and I could happily wear them all day everyday. I’ve not worn earrings for years because I have never found any that I can happily wear that aren’t too heavy or don’t irritate my ears.

Lily Charmed now sell necklaces, bracelets and earrings in both sterling silver and gold plated. They make perfect gifts as they are very reasonably priced! Perfect for this coming Mother’s Day.

Merci Maman Intertwined Necklace Review

Guest review/ Review/ Yummy Mummy

Hi, it’s Dawnie here from Knees Up Mother Brown popping over for a guest review for my lovely sister 🙂

I’ve always wanted a nice personalised necklace so when Sonia asked me if I’d like to review an intertwined necklace from Merci Maman for her I was more than happy to oblige 🙂

This glamorous simple intertwined chain necklace is the perfect symbol of a lasting relationship.

Locked together in an elegant intertwined motif, each circle has space for your own special message, transforming an already elegant necklace into something incredibly personal too. Each necklace is inscribed by hand just for your order, so your gift will be charmingly unique, just like your bond with its recipient!”

All I had to do was decide what I would like engraving on my necklace (25 characters on the large circle and 15 on the small one) and then wait. I decided I would like the large circle to represent myself and my husband, so I got our names and the date of our wedding engraved on that one. The smaller circle I wanted to represent our children and so their names were engraved on that.

The necklace arrived, beautifully packaged and as soon as I opened it, I was in love 🙂 It is hard to tell from my photo but the necklace I received is sterling silver but you can also opt to have it in gold plated. The engraving has been done in a beautiful script and is really clear and easy to read.

I absolutely love my necklace, but I believe the photograph speaks for itself. It really is a one off and truly personal piece of jewellery which holds a special meaning to me. The intertwined necklaces sell for £79 which I think is a pretty good price!

I think my husband is now a little jealous that he hasn’t got anything personalised so I’ve been checking out their other personalised jewellery for his next birthday present 🙂

If you’d like a change to win one for yourself then go and enter the competition that Sonia is currently hosting here >>> Win A Personalised Intertwined Necklace.

What’s in your underwear drawer?

Review/ Yummy Mummy

I will admit now that I have an awful selection of underwear, I have a couple of nice bras and lots and lots of black knickers but that is about it! It never seems to be something that I want to go out &  buy and well to be honest I find buying underwear online an absolute nightmare as nothing ever fits right and I just hate sending things back so I just avoid now! What about you; please do tell me what’s in your underwear drawer?

I know the importance of a good bra and the bras that I do have are really well fitted as I made sure of that after I stopped breastfeeding but I never even thought to get matching knickers with them! Underwear to me is just a necessity and that’s about it really. After having three kids I can’t say I look that desirable in my undies so it’s not something I am going to put on to seduce my other half… he’ll probably fall about laughing at the sight of me! No I’m kidding; he’s not quite that insensitive! 😉

Anyway recently the very lovely people at Best British Bloggers contacted me to see if I would like to receive a set of lingerie from Panache Lingerie; I didn’t hesitate for a minute! A gorgeous set of lingerie for me… actually something for ME to review and write about on the blog! I was a bit wary about the sizing issue but I thought what the heck let’s just give it a go! I was dead excited when I was sent a few photos and asked to pick my top two sets! All of them were gorgeous so it was really difficult to choose but I narrowed it down and a week or so later I received my set in the post.

Photo 29-03-2013 10 07 10

I have to say the set I received is absolutely beautiful and I was amazed that it fits perfectly!! Obviously you won’t be seeing any photos of me in it (well unless you pay me that is! *I’m kidding*) It is really pretty and I am over the moon with it… this could be the start of a dangerous, very expensive  lingerie addiction 😉

I will definitely shop with Panache again all of their lingerie is gorgeous… in fact I’ve just searched for a stockist near me and there is one almost on my doorstep lol.

As if getting this beautiful set wasn’t enough Best British Bloggers also treated me to some other goodies including this divine Easter Egg… which incidentally is all MINE too 😉

Have a wonderful Easter everyone xxx

A huge thank you to Panache for gifting me the lingerie for the purpose of this post!

New Peacock ghd’s Review

Review/ Yummy Mummy

I received a pair of the new Peacock ghd classic gold stylers a couple of weeks ago to review from the lovely people at Regis Salons, You cannot know how happy this made me (I’m sure you do if you’re female) I did actually squeal when they arrived! I was sent the beautiful green ones, they come packaged in a gorgeous peacock design box and the stylers are presented in a embroided heat resistant roll bag. The plates are green and they look so stylish!  They are so simple to operate; just plug them in, wait for the beep and they’re ready to use. They heat in seconds! I couldn’t believe quite how fast they actually. They also have a sleep mode; (incredibly useful if you’re forgetful like me)  they switch themselves off if they haven’t been used for 30 minutes.

I have incredibly straight hair but it is quite frizzy so I always straighten in after I wash it to give it a smooth look.  So far this is what I have used them for and they are brilliant!  I have been watching the video below and am going to try and create some curls – although I think I will practise on Boo first 😉 It’s so much easier to do someone else’s hair than your own dont you think? She makes it look so easy in the video; I wondered how I will find it, I’m quite useless when it come to hair to be honest! Anyway as far as straightening hair these are perfect! I’ll report back with photos very soon of my attempts at curling 😉

The Peacock ghd stylers are available at selected Regis Salons for £119.00

Regis Designline Products Review

Review/ Yummy Mummy

I got treated to a gorgeous new hair cut and highlights recently at a Regis Hair Salon; it was such a lovely treat – you can read about my experience here! I also got send some of the Regis Designline products to try out.

I will just say I’ve never really been into hair products; I’ve always bought a 2in1 shampoo and conditioner so I wouldn’t waste time in the shower and the only time I used a styling product was when I had short hair and I used to use wax by the bucket load! (I’m so classy) So I feel like I have really been spoilt with these new products I have been sent to try and I am seriously getting into loving my hair!!!

Regis Designline ShampooRegis Designline Conditioner

The first two items I was sent were Designline Colour Care Shampoo RRP £8.49 and Designline Colour Care Conditioner RRP £8.99. Not only do these look fabulous but they smell absolutely divine! I would buy them for the smell alone 😉 Now they are quite a lot more than I would usually pay for my shampoo & conditioner but I do actually believe that they are worth it! My hair is still in incredible condition and the colour looks fantastic still! You only need a small amount so the bottles really do go along way… I have chin length hair and I’ve been using the for three weeks now and I wash and condition everyday!

The next two products I absolutely LOVE and will use them FOREVER! You laugh and think I am over reacting but seriously… Try them!

Regis Designline Powder Boost Regis Designline Powder Boost Volumizer RRP £8.49
I’ve always had really fine, flat hair and am always looking for something to give it that extra oomph for a night out! Chris the salon manager introduced me to this at the salon and I instantly loved it! Your just sprinkle a little through your roots, work it in with your fingertips & Voila! Instant volume! I LOVE it! I will probably only use it when we go out so a bottle will probably last me what 30 years ;o) This won’t be everyone’s cup of tea as it does leave your hair feeling a bit stiff, so if you like soft hair that you can run your fingers through then this really won’t be for you.

Regis Designline Fiji Oil Designline Fiji Therapy Styling Oil RRP £9.49
This the one product I was really wary about using; I have really greasy hair as it is but I really needn’t have worried! I am totally in love with this now and will NEVER be without it! You just rub a few drops through wet hair and blow dry as normal, It hydrates, heals and protects whilst adding shine! It makes my hair feel wonderful and look awesome! My hair has never looked so good and I promise to take better care of it in future ;O)

Thanks Regis xxx

Regis Hair Salon Review – Derby

Review/ Yummy Mummy

Yesterday I finally got around to having my hair done, I went to my nearest Regis store which is in Derby. I was a little confused as this store is called Hair Express; if it hadn’t been for the Regis posters inside the window I would not have had a clue that it was a Regis Salon. After talking to Chris the manager it turns out the Hair Express was a Regis company; they are phasing them out and they will all become Regis Salons.

The above photo is me yesterday morning before I stepped into Regis. I’ve had my hair in a Bob for a good few years now, I like it, it’s easy to manage and I think probably the best style for my hair! I have lots of hair but it’s very very fine; I can’t do a great deal with it so in a Bob with a bit of added volume I’m happy! The last time I had it done (back in September I think) I had really blonde highlights in it and I really loved the front but at the back where it was cut into my neck it was really dark and well as James put it ” you look like a chav from the back” James is always brutally honest! (Honesty is not always a good thing – I can assure you) Anyway enough of the old cut… I’m here to tell you about Regis and my new cut 😉

So I went along to Regis yesterday and was instantly met by Chris the Salon Manager who was to be my Stylist. Chris talked me through what he thought would work best for my hair and how to avoid looking like a chav from the back 😉 It was decided that I would keep in the same style and I would have some highlights and low lights to work with my natural colour. Chris made me a coffee and went to mix up the colours. I have to say I get incredibly bored when I’m at the hairdressers and I feel really bad for just sitting around doing nothing but I have to say I really quite enjoyed it yesterday. Chris is an absolute credit to the Salon and he is really lovely to talk & listen too! Chris set to work putting my foils in and then left me for a while looking like this…

After having my foils out I had some wonderful head massage and a treatment on my hair and was left with a hot towel on my head to relax for a while. Chris then set to work on cutting my hair after he had checked to see if we were still in agreement on the cut. Chris clearly knows his stuff and gave me lots of tips along the way about looking after my hair and which products would work for me. He then went on to blow dry my hair, check for stray hairs and feather it up some more. Before introducing me to a fantastic product which I am going to tell you about in a completely different post ;O)

I’m really pleased with my new hair do, I love the colours and am very happy to not look like a chav from the back 😉 A big thank you to Regis Salons and especially to Chris who probably needs a pay rise ;o)

* I received my haircut and colour free of charge, in exchange for this review! The review is in my own words and is completely honest!
