[10th June 2015] My Inner Girl’s Picks – Clouds

My Inner Girl's Picks.../ Shopping

It’s been a long time since I did this feature, I think I only did it once after I moved Finding my Inner Girl over here. That didn’t work out too well did it! I used to really love doing my picks each week so I am going to start this up again. I will also start the guest picks up again too so if you’d like to join in see the bottom of the post.

To start off my theme for this week is Clouds… Clouds just seem to make me happy at the moment!  I pick them all from Etsy as I really love to support small business 🙂

I adore these things… especially the washi tape, I’m off to order some of that now! What I really love about doing this feature is that it gives me lots of ideas for when people ask me what I want for my birthday or Christmas. I just have to look back through my picks and instantly see something I would love.

Oooh I’m feeling all happy and warm now I’ve done this post… It’s almost as good as coming home from a day out shopping with lots of bags to go through 😉

Would you like to have your Etsy picks featured on This Mummy Loves? Just send me a quick email to and I’ll send you details you need xx

Mountain Warehouse Jacket Review

Review/ Shopping

The lovely people at Mountain Warehouse contacted me a few weeks ago to see if I would like to review one of their winter coats. I was desperately in need of a new coat so jumped at the chance. I chose the Antarctic Extreme Womens Down Jacket which is currently available for £124.99 instead of £249.99. It is available in black sizes 10-18.

Photo 15-12-2014 15 06 07

If there is one thing that I hate it is being cold when I am outdoors, i have to get up and do the school run everyday and it has been so cold recently so the coat already has been used an awful lot!I am totally in love with this jacket! I have never been cold in it, it is so snug, just like wearing a duvet! My other half is so jealous of my gorgeous new coat I think I am going to have to buy him one too. LOL

The Antarctic Extreme Womens Down Jacket is a high performance, warm winter jacket. Fully waterproof, breathable and with taped seams, this jacket will ensure you stay dry and comfortable in a downpour. The fur trim hood and casual longline design make this a practical yet stylish piece for winter too. With a 75% down 25% feather filling as well as a full down proof lining, you’re sure to stay snug in the Antarctic Extreme Womens Down Jacket

  • Waterproof – Our IsoDry fabric has a waterproof and breathable membrane to allow perspiration out, but keep you dry
  • Taped Seams – Taped seams make this garment fully waterproof
  • Down – 75% duck down and 25% feather make this Jacket extremely warm
  • Downproof Lining – Stops feathers and the filling of the jacket from poking through
  • Hood – Adjustable for a close fit, detachable for dry days, and a faux fur trim for extra warmth
  • Adjustable Waist – Elastic cord with plastic toggles lets you draw the waist in for a better fit
  • Inner Rib Cuffs – Adjustable cuff with a Velcro strap and an inner ribbed cuff for warmth and comfort- also helps prevent water from getting in at the cuffs
  • Lots of Pockets – One internal MP3 player/mobile phone pocket, four front zipped security pockets, and two large front popper pockets
  • Heat Rating – Laboratory tested to -30C. Health & physical activity, exposure time & perspiration will affect performance & comfort

I would highly recommend this jacket if you are looking for a new one! It is incredible warm but I’ve never been too hot in it, waterproof, has a well fitted hood, it also has side pockets if you are a hands in pockets type of girl like I am!  I love the length of the jacket too, it comes to the tops of my legs so covers my bum – which is a must for any jacket! It is incredibly well made, thick and padded and I actually look forward to going out in the cold now as I know that I am going to be lovely and snug.

This jacket is perfect for the school run but it’s also perfect for long winter weekend walks, sledging and anything you need to be outdoors for this winter!

Take a look at the Mountain Warehouse website for more info and many more outdoor clothing products.

This Mummy Loves… Minted

Shopping/ This Mummy Loves.../ TML... Shopping

I am a huge stationery fan, I have more notebooks, pens, diaries etc than a normal person probably should have! I use them all too… I do have a stash of gorgeous unused notebooks but they will get used, I love to keep my notebooks in perfect condition and I always stick to using one and use it page by page, I did once have the habit of having ten at a time with loads of different lists but this just led to me being very unorganised so I now have one notebook on my desk and one journal and I am much much more organised this way! That doesn’t mean that I can’t be prepared and have a store of them for when needed 😉

When I discovered Minted last week I was in heaven. I couldn’t get the gorgeousness out of my head so I have put together this post of my most coveted items! I foresee serious amounts of money being spent here in the very near future! Some of these would make beautiful Christmas gifts too!

I love having a personalised wall calendar hung in the house. Minted have such a gorgeous selection of photo calendars that look so professional and stylish!

There are so many notebooks that I just LOVE at Minted and what I love most about them is they are so versatile, you can opt to have an ordinary notebook with plain, lined or squared paper or you can opt for an address book, monthly planner or weekly planner for additional costs.

Here are a few other designs that I simply love and must have…

I can’t believe I have got this far into the post without mentioning the beautiful personalised stationery!! It is OH so beautiful and makes me want to write so many letters to people!

These are my absolute favourites…

How happy would you be receiving a letter on this stationery 🙂

I can’t end this post without mentioning this gorgeous  photo art work. I would LOVE to have this hanging on my wall!

For more information and to see the gorgeousness for yourself head over to Minted.

Two Gorgeous Party Looks for Girls

Christmas/ Shopping/ Trendy Kids

It’s party season and Boo has been invited to many different Christmas parties; so to help us to decide what she could wear we have put together two different party looks for her and you if you like them 😉

She is 8 now and really growing up into a little lady! I don’t like anything that makes her look too grown up as she is a child still but every now and again it’s lovely to make her feel extra special .

Look one is our favourite it’s very girlie & romantic and will make all girls feel a million dollars this Christmas. The whole outfit can be bought at Monsoon.

Look Two is from a store that I only just discovered yesterday and I fell completely in love with the whole website and everything they sell. I Love Gorgeous has stunning girlswear, I’m quite sad that I only just discovered them! It is owned by two Mums so that’s another massive reason to love them!

We couldn’t just leave it there, there are so many gorgeous dresses out there so we have  put together some of our favourites!

You can just click on the photos to be taken to my Polyvore where you can find all the links to the dresses.

Do your little ones get invited to many parties over the festive period?

Boys party wear coming soon…

Hotter Shoes Review

Review/ Shopping/ Yummy Mummy

A few weeks ago I was supposed to go to a Hotter Shoes party in Nottingham with some other lovely bloggers, unfortunately to my utter horror at the last minute I had to cancel. The wonderful people at Hotter didn’t want me to miss out on the Hotter experience so they invited me to visit one of their stores and choose a pair of Hotter shoes for myself.

I chose to visit the store at the intu shopping centre in Derby. Walking into the store I was pleasantly surprised at how relaxed and friendly the store is. Everything is displayed in such a lovely way and it is not cluttered at all like some shoe shops. They have lovely seating and it is basically like trying on shoes in your own living room.

In the back of my mind I was thinking ‘there is never going to be a pair of shoes in here for me, my mother wears these!’ and boy oh boy was I surprised! In fact I could have walked away with 3 or 4 pairs that day and still go back for more!!

So Hotter Shoes are no longer for OAP’s; see for yourself…

Shawbury Boots Hotter Shoes

Shawbury Boots £85.00

These Shawbury boots are bang on trend! Every woman should have a pair of flat ankle boots this season!

Sadie Boots - Hotter Shoes

Sadie Boots – £89.00

I totally fell in love with these Sadie Boots!! They didn’t have them in my size or I would have bought these… and may have just ordered them online 😉

Hampshire Boots - Hotter Shoes

Hampshire Boots – £129.00

The Hampshire boots are what I went for! They are absolutely gorgeous and fit like a glove! I am totally over the moon with them! They have needed no ‘wearing in’ whatsoever, I have walked for miles in them already and they are just so comfortable! I am a massive Hotter fan now and I am eagerly awaiting delivery of my Sadie boots which I will sure to post piccies of when I get them!

Hotter shoes - Hampshire

The Hampshire boots come in black, brown or taupe and cost £129.00 which isn’t too bad for a fantastic pair of boots. They are made from lovely soft leather which is a pleasure to wear. They zip up the inside and have elasticated bits in for a comfortable fit, I have quite chunky calves and they fit me perfectly.

What about you, do you have any experience of Hotter shoes? I now know what my Mum has been ranting on about all these years when she has said that they are the best shoes ever 🙂

* I received a pair of Hampshire boots in exchange for visiting the store and writing this post. All thoughts are my own and 100% honest.

My Inner Girl’s Picks – 3rd Oct 14

My Inner Girl's Picks.../ Shopping/ Wishlist

I have so many lovely picks that I want to share with you today. No particular theme again just things that I would LOVE to own 😉

I love virtual shopping without buying, it gives me *a little bit* of the satisfaction that actually going shopping does but with less damage to my bank account and I love having all these posts in my archives because when someone asks me what I want for my birthday etc I’ll point them in this direction and then they can still surprise me with something that I am going to absolutely LOVE!

Secretly hoping that someone will treat me to the blanket that I featured in last weeks picks 😉

I’m totally in love with this Soot Sprites Espresso Cup and Saucer Set, perfect for this coming Halloween!

I’m desperately in need of a new winter coat and I just love everything about this red wine cashmere coat winter hooded mantle military coat. Boo had a similar one a couple of years ago and I was very jealous of that back then.

These Make One Wish Necklace are so gorgeous! I love everything Dandelion, they have always seemed so magical to me 🙂

I think you all know by now that my favourite colour is turquoise… I need to have this very thin turquoise and tiny silver cube bead convertible necklace.

I used to get some amazing honey waffle soap from Lush Cosmetics when Lero was little and they stopped making it, I was absolutely distraught as the one they make instead is awful, I’ve never thought about looking elsewhere for something similar but I stumbled across this honey beeswax soap and thought I’d give it a try.

No words needed… this mug says it all 😉

I’ll end on this Antique Platinum Art Deco Engagement Ring because a girl’s got to dream 😉

What? No bag this week!!?? OMG what is happening to me… Hang on let me find one…

There that didn’t take too long did it, this yellow leather handbag will make me feel cheerful even on the dullest of days 🙂

If you would like to choose a theme for me for next week then please leave a comment with your chosen theme. If you would like to post your picks as a guest post then please email me and I’ll give you the info you will need :)
