For some of the experiments you will need a few other bits and pieces such as… vinegar, sticky tape, a soluble indigestion tablet, a 2 litre bottle, a bicycle pump etc – I expect most of the items you will have somewhere in the house. So far we have had most things we need. It does tell you at the top of each experiment what extras you need so you don’t get half way through an experiment and find you can’t finish it.

Wear goggles and stay safe!

So there are 12 fun experiments to complete, they all have simple to follow instructions and also give warnings at the top of each page to let you know if you should do this particular experiment outdoors, or wear goggles etc. There is also a ‘science bit’ for each experiment so the kids can understand what is happening with each experiment.

Film canister rocket experiment

We have had great fun with this set, Bugs aged 5 is totally obsessed by the film canister rocket experiment, I have used up loads of Alka Seltzer doing this, it is a really simple experiment where the gas build up inside the canister blows the lid off so the ‘rocket’ blasts off with a pop! It’s lot of fun! They both also love doing the fizzing potions!

We still have lots of the experiments to do but we love this kit and would definitely recommend it! It’s fun and educational! I would never leave Boo just to play with it on her own though, some of the experiments take a bit of understanding to get them to work but I love to play with things like this with her so a huge thumbs up!

This looks awesome. I used to love this sort of stuff when I was younger. I remember getting one of those grow your own crystal things too which I thought was amazing.

oh this looks good! We saw a demonstration of film canister rockets at the Life museum recently and the kids have been nagging me to do it at home ever since.
