During October I am taking part in #Blogtober18, where I write a blog post everyday for the whole month. Mandi over at Big Family Organised Chaos is hosting a linky each day where she also gives a prompt for us to write about. Today’s prompt is invitations/letters for #NationalPostDay.
Before the internet I used to write so many letters, I loved writing to anyone I could think of. My sister spent a year in Australia and I wrote to her at least once a week while she was over there, I had a friend who I met in hospital when I had Liam who I used to write to, I had penpals from meeting people on holiday when I was younger and I would just send random cards/letters to surprise people. Nowadays I don’t write to anyone, I only really take the time to send the odd hello email or Facebook message… although I am still pretty good at sending birthday cards.
It’s making me quite sad to write this as I used to get so much joy from writing and receiving nice post so as soon as I have finished this blog post that is what I am going to do. I’m going to get out my old address book and I’m going to write to people who I haven’t wrote to in years… just because!
I used to love spending time in card and stationary shops buying lovely things to send to my friends through the post – so today I’m sharing some things that would make the most perfect post to receive 🙂
This #happymail letter writing set has to be my first purchase. We all need to send more happy mail!
I love this motivational quotes postcard set.
Personally I don’t think you can put anything in the post unless it’s decorated in pretty washi tape.
I’d love one of these hand drawn address stamps! So cool!
These notecards are so pretty.
It would be amazing to have my very own letterhead.
This writing gift set is just beautiful.
I definitely need these ‘This is not a text’ note cards in my life!
Last but not least I’m hoping to be sending out some wedding invitations in the not too distant future! How gorgeous are these!
Do you write letters to people? I’d love to hear please leave a comment to tell me all about the special post you send and receive.

I had a few penpals a few years back, I found as soon as my little one started getting mobile I was finding it so hard to find time to write letters anymore. Luckily I have most on Facebook so we still keep in touch. I love the stationery #Blogtober18
I used to have a pen friend in America when I was little. My aunt was a nanny over there and used to get one of her charges to write to me and send me little gifts. I was so excited when a letter arrived and would rush to send one back.
The internet is great but it is sad that we don’t write many letters anymore.
I’ve got so much stationery it’s ridiculous! In my defence, my hubby and daughter do frequently help themselves to my stash haha! #blogtober18
I never write to people much these days either. My brother lives in Orkney with his family & I send my niece the odd letter with some photos in. Not very often though. #blogtober
That stationary is gorgeous! The ‘This is not a text’ note cards are brilliant!
You are right though, we don’t write letters anymore. This prompt has made me want to though x
I do love stationary and there is nothing nicer than receiving something nice in the post. However, I don’t write nearly as much as I used to. I may have to get my old address book out too.
