#Blogtober18 Day 25 – Years Gone By

During October I am taking part in #Blogtober18, where I write a blog post everyday for the whole month. Mandi over at Big Family Organised Chaos is hosting a linky each day where she also gives a prompt for us to write about.

Today’s prompt is ‘years gone by’, when I read this prompt it suddenly made me very sad to remember that I have no baby photos of myself. I literally have no idea what I looked like before I was 2 years and 10 months old which is the age I was when my parents first took a photo of me! I’ve probably got about 10,000 photos of each of my kids before that age!

This is the very first photo of me. It was taken in May 1980.  I was 2 years and 8 months old. I’m the one on the left, my little brother in the middle (aged 10 months) and my big sister on the right (age 3 years and 7 months). Wow my Mum had her hands full didn’t she! We also have another brother and sister who would have been about 16 and 13 at the time too.

I thought I would share photos of my kids taken around the same age as I was when I had my first photo taken. I am so pleased that I have so many photos of them before these but it’s nice to see us all around the same age 🙂

This was my Liam in 1998 when he was around the same age as me in the photo above. He was such a cutie. I remember this day, it was a really hot day and we’d just bought him this little picnic table and he was waiting for his lunch. I think that was the best thing I ever bought when he was little – he loved that table!

The was Boo when she was around 2 and a half. She was the most adorable little things and was obsessed with posing like this (I have no idea where she got that from) – She was so blonde, I wish it had stayed like that.

And finally the baby of the family Bugs, this really doesn’t feel like it was that long ago but it’s over five years ago now. He was obsessed with sticks, water and wellies and just loved being outdoors.

So that’s me and all my children at around 2 and a half years! We were pretty cute kids were we not 😉 It is so lovely to look back on old photos, I always get the albums out when I go to mums. I really need to make the effort to print more of my photos and make up some more albums as currently they are all on hard drives or DVDs and I will be just gutted if we lose them.

I don’t have any baby photo’s of me either, the first one was when I was about 2 with my Dad at a wedding. I guess taking photos of babies just wasn’t that popular.
It’s always good to look back on old photos though. I get my favourite printed in photobooks, I love them.
