Last Thursday I went on the Clarks Shoes website and made an appointment to have the kids feet measured in store the very next day. I was rather pleased by this as one of my hates is having to go and sit and wait to be seen with two impatient kids. I have been a Clarks customers for many many years now especially for school shoes. In my experience they are always fitted well and incredibly well made and long lasting. We got to our local store at our appointment time and were seen straight away. The kids had their feet measured using the new iPad measuring system! The kids did like having that little bit of interaction with the iPad by entering their age and the symbol for boys/girls depending on their sex. I love how Clarks are moving with the times and are using iPads to measure kids feet now.
Bugs needed school shoes first as he starts school in September so that was our first priority. He chose these shoes which are incredibly sturdy and I just can see how hard wearing they are going to be, very much needed as Bugs likes to drag a foot along the floor whilst scooting! He was also given this Ladybird memory book which I though was a really lovely touch. It’s such a well thought out book with spaces for lots of school memories.
Next we had to choose a pair of super cool trainers for everyday wear, Bugs chose these because they made him run really really fast when he tried them on *Apologies to all the little old ladies he almost knocked over whilst trying them out* Seriously sometimes I just wish the floor would swallow me up! Why do they feel the need to embarrass us so often 😉 Having bought a full price pair of shoes meant that we would receive £5 off sports shoes so these were a bargain! You can also get that offer online if you enter BSPORT4 at the checkout.
The last thing Bugs needed for his first day at school was some plimsolls and of course Clarks didn’t fail us there! Hurrah! All sorted in one trip! I can’t believe we got so lucky and everything was in stock for the sizes we needed!
Boo also needed a pair of trainers for PE so she chose these. She’s having to learn to tie her laces now too. I don’t think she has ever had a pair of shoes with laces in!! How bad is that?! Everything is buckles and velcro these days. I thought she would be put off by this but no she took on the challenge and has been practising tying them for the last few days. She is almost there 😉 So that was our trip to Clarks last Friday. Half an hour, four pairs of shoes, £93.50 in total. Phew it’s done and we are almost all ready to go back to school now! But first we have a weeks holiday to go on and we can’t wait 🙂 Check out the Clarks website and enter to win the best school trip ever!!! * I received vouchers to cover the cost of our shoes but my thoughts are honest.

My son is 12 and we still shop in clarks. They always last longer than other shoes
Looks like a fabulous shopping trip, I love it when you can get everything in one store! Mich x
Those look like very smart school shoes! I used to go to Clarks when they were babies but I stopped going when a local shoe shop opened and stocked more variety and brands. I might need to go in and see how the iPad feet measuring works though! Enjoy your holiday!
