Pretty Nails

Beauty/ Nails

I had gel overlays done a couple of weeks ago in time for my trip to the Mad Blog Awards and I really love them! Until my mid twenties I always bit my nails and then when I stopped I took great care of them for ages but with two little ones running around I just found it so hard to make myself stop and do them, well now Maxwell goes to playschool a two mornings a week I suddenly have a few hours free so I thought I would treat myself – having nice nails makes me feel so much nicer and more feminine!

My nails!

I’ve never had gel nails before, I had acrylics about 13 years ago but other than that I have always just done my own (or not) – So I’m having my in-fills done on Thursday and I’ve been looking around on Pinterest for some ideas! There is some really AMAZING nail art out there but I much prefer the more natural looking!

There are so many really pretty ways to do your nails nowadays and I really love all of the above! Do you have a favourite? I think mine is the middle one 🙂

I’ll take a photo as soon as I have had them done to show you what I decide on xx

I love doing my nails but I hate the idea of someone doing it for me. I’ve done it few times but I was always paralysed, like on the dentist seat, worrying that they will accidentally cut me. So I’m stuck with my own manicure and pedicure… I even written post about it but never published it… maybe now I will 😉

I haven’t had mine done for donkeys years. I just try and grow them myself. I rarely paint them now either.

My favourite at the mo are some black Matt ones with glossy black tips.

Oh yes I love those ones too – but my oh hates them so I’m trying not to go there lol x

Wish I could have lovely nails! Cooking everyday doesn’t really allow it… Plus the nails filled with scone mix isn’t the best look. I’ll just have to admire everyone else’s!

I can imagine scone mix and pastry etc is a nightmare behind them! But I cook everyday too and do most normal things Mums do and don’t have a problem with them x

I used to have mine done when I lived in London because there were nail bars everywhere and it was so easy. Now it involves booking an appointment or going in to town so I never bother. And one of my kids ran off with my bag of nail stuff, have turned the house upside down looking for it. Will have to start again. Yours look so pretty, I love the dandelion clocks too! Love the new blog!

Thanks lovely! That’s the problem isn’t it; making that little bit of effort for ourselves! I found a mobile technician so didn’t even have to leave the house and she came round while Maxwell and his nap so it was perfect x

I love having my nails done. Up until G was in hospital a lot I would have mine done every 2 wks. But in between I would do my own nail art. I am a huge fan. I am so pleased you are going again. I personally think nice nails makes you feel so feminine and pretty. I love all the pics but especially the middle and the right of it.
Excited to see yours. I shall have to dig pics out of mine x

I used to have my nails done regularly and should really get back into the habit. I hate my natural nails as they have such an odd shape. I love the grey nails with the dandelions – gorgeous!

Mine are a bit of an odd shape too, look so much better and stronger with overlays xx
