A Week with a Peugeot 308 GT Line

I’ll start this post by telling you that I am no car expert and I write this post totally from the experience of a Mum who loves a nice car to drive who has been driving for over 30 years. I actually don’t have a car myself because I just don’t need one for day to day living, everywhere I need to go is within walking distance and if I do need to go somewhere then I can take my partner to work and have his car. So it was a real treat to have a nice shiny Peugeot 308 GT Line delivered to my door for a week during the summer holidays so I could take the kids out and have some fun.

When the car was delivered I instantly loved it, the colour ‘ultimate red’ is just gorgeous! When I was told the car was an automatic I started to panic as I have never drove an automatic before!! I really need not have worried because it was the easiest car I have ever driven! In fact I loved it so much that if I ever purchase a car then I will definitely be looking to buy an automatic. The Peugeot 308 GT Line has a 1.2L engine and reaches a top speed of 124mph… I didn’t manage to get to this speed though thanks to the big speedometer on the dashboard, Bugs kept a very close eye on how fast I was going and was very quick to tell me if I was breaking the law 😉

The Peugeot not only looks great with its 18-inch ‘Diamant’ alloy wheels but it is really great to drive too. It’s pretty nippy, really smooth and incredibly quiet too!

There was plenty of room in the back seat for my three children (although one is an adult now), they were much more comfortable in the Peugeot than they ever have been in our little Golf.

The little two loved that their windows were tinted so nobody could see them, they thought it was hysterical to pull faces at everyone they saw knowing that they couldn’t be seen… cheeky little blighters 😉

The feature that I just LOVED the most is the inbuilt computer which controls the air conditioning, radio, sat nav and the BEST part… the reversing camera! It just made reversing so much easier, I have always hated reverse parking but with the reversing camera I actually found myself reversing a lot more. Every car should have one!!

The other feature that we absolutely loved was the panoramic Cielo glass roof, it was like driving with the top down without the wind 😉 It really felt so much better to have so much light… Awesome!

The Peugeot 308 GT Line was the perfect size for us, we don’t need a big family car as our kids our growing up now so we much prefer to have a nippy little number like this! We loved everything about it!

The kids were gutted to see the back of the Peugeot… or it may have been because they had to return to school the very same day we had to say goodbye but still 😉 The Peugeot 308 GT Line gave us a fabulous last week of the summer holidays, we went to Chatsworth Country FairTwin LakesAlton Towers Waterpark and loved every minute!

If I was considering buying a car then I would be putting the Peugeot 308 GT Line at the top of my list! I drove it for about 300 miles during my week with it and I have never been happier driving a car in my life! Make sure you test drive it if you are looking for a new car.

The retail price of the the Peugeot 308 GT Line is £23,380 and this car does have some extras which cost more like the special paint is £675, the panoramic Cielo glass roof is £500 and the Driver Assistance is £450 so expect to pay around £25,000 if you want to spec up.

* We were provided with the Peugeot 308 GT Line to test drive for a week however all opinions are my own and completely honest.

We had the Peugeot 5008 automatic, and it was a dream to drive. We are going back to automatics after our experience. This sounds like a great city car

We had that exact one to go to Carfest in – we loved it and it was really punchy for an automatic too

It sounds amazing! Our car is on its last legs, and we thought we needed an estate to cart all of us and our stuff about but we recently hired a saloon (an insignia) for a road trip and were surprised about how much we could fit in. I love the sounds of the driver assist on this one!

Can you believe we test drove a 308 SW over the holidays and then the husbeast went out and bought one off the back of the review as he loved it so much. My SIL has one too!

That looks like the sort of car we would be thinking of getting when we get around to replacing ours. Roomy enough without being enormous. Love the sound of that reversing camera.
