Contacts or Glasses?

General Chit Chat

I’ve been trying out contact lenses for the last couple of weeks and while I really love them I’m just not sure I want to lose my specs! I’ve wore specs  for 20 years now and I didn’t think it would be so hard to part with them but I guess when you have had something on your face for 20 years it can take some getting used to!

Me already for our date night on Saturday.

Me without Specs

I really just don’t know what to do at the moment – I find my eyes are really really dry when I’m wearing contacts and I’m always having to blink and then there is the fact that my other half prefers me in glasses; saying that I’m not too bothered about what he thinks it’s just another factor when thinking about it!

I guess given time I’ll just get used to my face without specs… they’ve been there for 20 years; hopefully it won’t take 20 years though 😉

How about you; do you prefer contacts or glasses? Which do you find easier?

    You look lovely without glasses!

I wear glasses, I wore contacts for a while, but it got too expensive so I’ve switched back to glasses.. I find them annoying most days but unfortunately its something us glasses wearers have to put up with!

I tried contacts a few years ago and also found I had dry eyes. I gave up after a couple of years. I honestly prefer my glasses. You can often get 2 for 1 at places like Specsavers and they work out much cheaper and less hassle than keeping lenses clean and putting them in.
I’ve got 2 pairs at the moment that I alternate.

I had the same problem with contacts drying my eyes but found a good eye drop really helps, took me a while to find the right one.
I’ve been without my contacts for over a year now as I had to stop wearing them while pregnant (my eyes became too dry) and because of the night shifts I do I haven’t found time to be refitted. But they open up a world of possibilities – especially in winter when you don’t have to worry about glasses steaming up when you enter a warm room after bring outside!

Give them a chance see how you fair; maybe a pair with more water content might suit you – but either way you look fab! Glasses really suit you (you lucky lady!)

I think your glasses really suit you, but I think the contacts really open up your eyes x

I think you look great either way, very different in both. I have the same issue with contacts and my eyes get very dry and I blink loads. I have 2 types of drops that help, but I still give up on them after a few hours.

I’m about to try contacts for the first time. If I get on with them, I think I’ll have the same dilema as you! I rather like my glasses, but hubby prefers me without. My big thing is I’d love to be able to buy reasonably priced sunglasses rather than be stuck with the one pair of prescription ones I have!

I think you look fab with and without, so perhaps mix and match. Some days go for the preppy speccy look and other times go without!

What pretty eyes you have! By the looks of these photos you look great both with and without your glasses. I’m sure you could do a bit of a mix of wearing them and not wearing them.

I live in my contacts as I don’t like how I look in glasses. I think glasses suit you though.
