I love getting cleaning products to review because I am a bit of a clean freak… well that is a lie actually; I used to be a bit of a clean freak but since I discovered blogging, Twitter and Facebook I really don’t have time to be one any more So anything that might make my life a little bit easier when it comes to keeping the house clean is a big must in my opinion!
The Vax S3S+ Hard Floor Advance+ steam mop arrived and it did sit in its box for a few days while I summoned up the energy to put it together and understand it… not needed really as it was just in three pieces that needed slotting together and within ten minutes I was flying round all my floors!

I will say when I first used the mop I was a little trigger happy which left my floors rather wet indeed and sticky… since reading the instructions I realise that you don’t need to keep the trigger pressed in at all times! Since I realised this I have used it a few more times and had wonderfully clean floors!
One thing I really miss when using this product is the wonderful smell of bleach that lingers for hours when I have mopped the floor but like my other half assured me ‘mopping is just sloshing round dirty water across a floor’ whilst steaming a floor is actually killing bacteria whilst leaving it sparkling clean! I guess when you look at it like that it really does make sense… I’m a creature of habit though and always need some convincing of any change ;) I must admit it is much easier to just fly round with the steam mop than it is to actually hand mop the floors so I am definitely going to make this my new habit!
The steam mop is so easy to use, you just fill with water and detergent switch it on and after 15 seconds you are good to go. The liquid/detergent tank should last around half an hour so plenty of time to get all your floors done. I have cleaned tiled and Lino flooring so far but there is actually an option to refresh carpets too so I am going to give that ago soon.
I was also sent some Coral Cleaning Pads to use with the steam mop and these are great for removing stubborn stains. My dining room Lino has come up a treat since using one of these with the steam mop, I always thought it was lovely and clean but really NOW it has never been as clean and when you have toddlers and small children that really makes me feel better about the crawling around the floors!
