Ragdale Hall Review

Adventures/ Review

Last Friday I spend the day at Ragdale Hall health hydro & thermal spa with my other half. We have desperately needed some time together so this was the perfect opportunity for us to do that and relax! We opted for a Refresh & revive day which included a blissful face and back therapy and a healthy three course lunch. This package costs £129 on a weekday or £149 at the weekend.

We arrived at just after 9am and were taken to garden room bar for a coffee and to check in. Soon after getting our coffee’s a member of staff came over and sat with us and went through our details, gave us our treatment times and lockers keys. We didn’t take her up on the chance of a tour because we love to explore and discover things for ourselves but we were given a very detailed map of the place so it was easy to find our way around.

We went straight to the changing rooms and got changed into our swimwear and robes. We headed straight for the Thermal Spa; as we had appointments for our treatments in the afternoon we wanted to make the most of the spa during the morning. The thermal spa is absolutely amazing, within minutes we were both incredibly chilled out and just enjoying being with each other.

The candle pool (above) is wonderful, my favourite place of the whole day. It is a silent room so it is just wonderful to go and lie in there, the colour changing lights and the twinkling of the candles made it so relaxing. I went back in here a few times during the day. I probably could have spent the day there but may have ended up looking like a wrinkled old prune if I had 😉

We absolutely loved the outdoor pool, it’s a wonderful place to just sit and relax under the waterfall or enjoy one of the massages available.  The experience showers were one of my favourites too… I loved the tropical shower and the cool mist – the smell was amazing! You can read more about the spa area here. We went in every single spa experience and they were never too busy, everything was exceptionally clean and so well thought out.

buffet-lunch

Lunch was lovely. It was a three course lunch. Starters were chosen from the menu, main courses were taken from the hot and cold buffet and dessert could be chosen from the buffet or the menu. Everything we had was really delicious, very very tasty and healthy too! We even treated ourselves to a glass of prosecco while we ate. It never felt rushed at all which was wonderful.

After lunch we sat out on deck chars in the garden to let our tummies settle. We watched cute little birds playing in the stream and then rolling around in dust – it was so adorable! We went back in the thermal spa and for a swim after that before our blissful  face and back therapies at 3pm. The treatment was wonderful, so very relaxing and destressing and I would definitely return just for the treatment! My other half said his was heavenly when I asked him and for him that’s a pretty high compliment 😉

Ragdale Hall is quite simply amazing and we will definitely be returning. The whole day was wonderful and relaxing! We really regretted that we weren’t staying overnight whilst we were there so next time that will most certainly what we do. We will also book ourselves an extra treatment next time too just for an extra bit of luxury!

Oh my goodness, this looks amazing! I’ve heard of Ragdale Hall but never looked at it properly. And so lovely to go as a couple….never enough couple time when you have kids, is there?
