Spa Day Specials from Eden Hall

Yummy Mummy

As a Mum of three children it is desperately hard to get some quality me time. I have had spa days in the past which have been amazing but I have always gone with someone else. This Christmas I find myself wishing for just one day at a gorgeous spa like Eden Hall on my own. To just relax and not have to think about anyone else but me for a whole day! (Sounds amazing doesn’t it)

I last went to Eden Hall for my partner’s 40th birthday treat back in 2012, we had an absolutely amazing day and Eden Hall is my favourite spa without a doubt! The facilities are amazing, the staff are so friendly and the whole atmosphere is just so relaxing.

If you are thinking about treating yourself or maybe someone you love deserves a special spa day then Eden Hall have some brilliant packages that you might want to consider; how amazing do these sound?…

Also included is a delicious three-course lunch in Eden’s Seventh Heaven restaurant complemented by an array of salads and side dishes. Towels and robes are provided for use on the day.

Fresh & Fabulous Spa Day

Freshen up your system with the ultimate development in cryotherapy that targets two problem areas: the stomach and legs. Tackling abdominal congestion in both the small and large intestine and stimulating the lymphatic system to encourage the body’s own natural purification, this invigorating treatment uses massage to eliminate toxins, fluid retention and improve the functioning of the digestive system. The therapeutic contrast of hot Lava Shells and cool Glacial Shells promotes wellness and balance whilst leaving you feeling refreshed and uplifted. Perfect to boost the system following Christmas indulgence!

Also includes a fabulous three course lunch and a ‘feel good’ smoothie to finish the day!

Available January & February 2014  – from £115 per person.

There are other spa day packages to choose from and a huge range of treatments too! Just check our their website for more details.

They also sell gift cards if you aren’t sure what to buy, currently Eden Hall have a offer (ends 21st Dec 14) on where you receive a £10 voucher for every  £100 worth of vouchers that you buy.

Giving myself time is going to be one of my resolutions next year; I think everyone should have at least 2 spa days a year and just stop the world for a while & take time for themselves!

Have a wonderful, relaxing Christmas xx

Hotter Shoes Review

Review/ Shopping/ Yummy Mummy

A few weeks ago I was supposed to go to a Hotter Shoes party in Nottingham with some other lovely bloggers, unfortunately to my utter horror at the last minute I had to cancel. The wonderful people at Hotter didn’t want me to miss out on the Hotter experience so they invited me to visit one of their stores and choose a pair of Hotter shoes for myself.

I chose to visit the store at the intu shopping centre in Derby. Walking into the store I was pleasantly surprised at how relaxed and friendly the store is. Everything is displayed in such a lovely way and it is not cluttered at all like some shoe shops. They have lovely seating and it is basically like trying on shoes in your own living room.

In the back of my mind I was thinking ‘there is never going to be a pair of shoes in here for me, my mother wears these!’ and boy oh boy was I surprised! In fact I could have walked away with 3 or 4 pairs that day and still go back for more!!

So Hotter Shoes are no longer for OAP’s; see for yourself…

Shawbury Boots Hotter Shoes

Shawbury Boots £85.00

These Shawbury boots are bang on trend! Every woman should have a pair of flat ankle boots this season!

Sadie Boots - Hotter Shoes

Sadie Boots – £89.00

I totally fell in love with these Sadie Boots!! They didn’t have them in my size or I would have bought these… and may have just ordered them online 😉

Hampshire Boots - Hotter Shoes

Hampshire Boots – £129.00

The Hampshire boots are what I went for! They are absolutely gorgeous and fit like a glove! I am totally over the moon with them! They have needed no ‘wearing in’ whatsoever, I have walked for miles in them already and they are just so comfortable! I am a massive Hotter fan now and I am eagerly awaiting delivery of my Sadie boots which I will sure to post piccies of when I get them!

Hotter shoes - Hampshire

The Hampshire boots come in black, brown or taupe and cost £129.00 which isn’t too bad for a fantastic pair of boots. They are made from lovely soft leather which is a pleasure to wear. They zip up the inside and have elasticated bits in for a comfortable fit, I have quite chunky calves and they fit me perfectly.

What about you, do you have any experience of Hotter shoes? I now know what my Mum has been ranting on about all these years when she has said that they are the best shoes ever :)

* I received a pair of Hampshire boots in exchange for visiting the store and writing this post. All thoughts are my own and 100% honest.

The Original Sunjellies Review

Review/ Yummy Mummy

I’ve fallen in love with a pair of shoes! I feel like a kid again and I can’t stop looking at my feet! I was sent these awesome silver glitter Sunjellies last week and I haven’t had them off my feet ever since!

Photo 09-05-2014 14 04 51

I was so so happy when I realised they did my size, not many places bother with my big old size 9’s so I was totally over the moon! They fit perfectly and I just love them so much! Usually I struggle even to fit in a size 9 because my feet are quite wide too but these are a really lovely fit! No rubbing or digging in! I could literally wear them all of the time!

Photo 09-05-2014 13 48 33

Everyone who sees them comments on how they used to love theirs when they were a kid and they really must get themselves and the kids some!

Photo 10-05-2014 14 45 57

Perfect for beach life but also I just wear the all the time! They look so cool and at £14.00 they are an absolute bargain! I aim to have a pair in every colour by the end of the Summer and the kids too 😉 There are 21 different colours for adults over on the website and 16 for kids currently! There is definitely a colour for every single outfit! I think the black are next on my list 😉

Photo 18-05-2014 14 52 56Pop on over to the website and have a look for yourself. They sell adults Sunjellies in sizes UK1-UK10, Kids sizes UK 4-13 and now they are selling the lovely jelly bags that I use to covet so much when I was little!!

Love these shoes… Click here to read more about the lovely lady behind Sunjellies :)

Updated 25th July 2014

I just want to update to say that since reviewing these I have bought myself another pair, my daughter two pairs and my son one pair! We absolutely love them and highly recommend ordering from Original Sunjellies :)

Lily Charmed Earrings Review

Review/ Yummy Mummy

Last year I reviewed a lovely necklace from Lily Charmed and this year I have been very lucky to receive a pair of their beautiful new silver heart stud earrings to review and I am so happy with them!

Photo 07-03-2014 13 22 12

All Lily Charmed come in a beautiful presentation box. Lily Charmed have only just introduced earrings to their range and I can tell that they are going to be a big hit!

Photo 07-03-2014 13 22 59

Gorgeous heart earrings in polished sterling silver, they are also available in matt finish. I would happily buy these earrings as a gift for someone, they are fantastic quality. I also love the jigsaw piece earrings on the Lily Charmed website.

Photo 07-03-2014 16 00 09

I really love these earrings, they are a lovely size and I could happily wear them all day everyday. I’ve not worn earrings for years because I have never found any that I can happily wear that aren’t too heavy or don’t irritate my ears.

Lily Charmed now sell necklaces, bracelets and earrings in both sterling silver and gold plated. They make perfect gifts as they are very reasonably priced! Perfect for this coming Mother’s Day.

Merci Maman Intertwined Necklace Review

Guest review/ Review/ Yummy Mummy

Hi, it’s Dawnie here from Knees Up Mother Brown popping over for a guest review for my lovely sister :)

I’ve always wanted a nice personalised necklace so when Sonia asked me if I’d like to review an intertwined necklace from Merci Maman for her I was more than happy to oblige :)

This glamorous simple intertwined chain necklace is the perfect symbol of a lasting relationship.

Locked together in an elegant intertwined motif, each circle has space for your own special message, transforming an already elegant necklace into something incredibly personal too. Each necklace is inscribed by hand just for your order, so your gift will be charmingly unique, just like your bond with its recipient!”

All I had to do was decide what I would like engraving on my necklace (25 characters on the large circle and 15 on the small one) and then wait. I decided I would like the large circle to represent myself and my husband, so I got our names and the date of our wedding engraved on that one. The smaller circle I wanted to represent our children and so their names were engraved on that.

The necklace arrived, beautifully packaged and as soon as I opened it, I was in love :) It is hard to tell from my photo but the necklace I received is sterling silver but you can also opt to have it in gold plated. The engraving has been done in a beautiful script and is really clear and easy to read.

I absolutely love my necklace, but I believe the photograph speaks for itself. It really is a one off and truly personal piece of jewellery which holds a special meaning to me. The intertwined necklaces sell for £79 which I think is a pretty good price!

I think my husband is now a little jealous that he hasn’t got anything personalised so I’ve been checking out their other personalised jewellery for his next birthday present :)

If you’d like a change to win one for yourself then go and enter the competition that Sonia is currently hosting here >>> Win A Personalised Intertwined Necklace.

Eden Hall Day Spa Review

Adventures/ local review/ Review/ Yummy Mummy

Last Friday was my other half’s 40th birthday so I took him to Eden Hall Day Spa as a surprise. We don’t often get to spend any time together relaxing so I booked us the majestic stay package for a real treat! I managed to keep this a complete surprise until we were about ten minutes away and then he realised where we were going! :)

Eden Hall Day Spa

I had never been to Eden Hall before but James went a few years ago after I bought him a voucher for his birthday, he really enjoyed it back then and after our disappointing spa day earlier this year he was delighted to be going back to Eden Hall! James had sung Eden hall’s praises after he went there so I was really looking forward to going and getting a little bit of benefit out of his birthday present! 😉

So the majestic stay package includes…

  • A day at the spa with full access to the saltwater vitality swimming pool, spa pools, outdoor hot tubs, heated rooms. You can get active in their gymnasium or one of their exercise classes.
  • A fabulous three course lunch.
  • Robe and towels provided for your day.
  • Feel pampered with an exclusive treatment to help you unwind and float away into complete relaxation. A stress melting massage concentrating on the face, neck, shoulders, arms and scalp followed by an intensive anti-ageing hand treatment and a delightful foot treatment to nourish and condition neglected feet.
  • Then stay at Manor Court in the luxurious Queen’s Suite with a glass of house champagne on arrival and a delicious breakfast in the morning.

This package costs £395 for two people and let me tell you now, it is worth every single penny!

Palm Conservatory

We arrived at Eden Hall about 9.50 am, my plan was to get there for 9am but bad traffic and Bugs being poorly with his asthma meant we were delayed slightly, it was rather a stressful morning for us both so walking into Eden Hall was exactly what we needed. We registered and were given times for our treatments and lunch and given our locker keys. My locker was brilliant as it had a keypad that was activated by a 4 digit code that I could select so I didn’t have to worry about my key for the whole day, James was a little disappointed by this as he had to carry his wherever he went 😉

We got changed into our swimwear straight away and made good use of the gorgeous pool and heated rooms, my favourite of all was the tropical rain shower, I could have spent all day in it; James always prefers the hottest steam room and I get too hot in those after 5 minutes. The pool is really lovely, it has two spa pools at one end and the other end you can actually swim outside.

Salt-Water Vitality Pool

Salt-Water Vitality Pool

After we spent some time in the pool we went outside to the outdoor hot tubs – these are amazing! While we were in them in the afternoon it chucked it down with rain and it was just bliss to be able to sit there nice and warm in the outdoors watching the rain pelt down! This was my favourite part of the whole day!

We heard people talking about sitting in them when we had the bad snow last year… I would love to go back when it is snowing just to do that!

Outdoor Hot Tubs

While we were at Eden Hall James and I both had two treatments, one that was included in our package that was just heavenly! I fell asleep during mine so it must have been good,  we were both so totally relaxed after this so we went to the Post-Treatment Conservatory and just nodded off for a while. My other treatment was a deluxe pedicure; which was so nice! My therapist was so lovely and friendly and made me feet feel and look super pretty! James had a Lava Shells rescue massage which he really enjoyed.

At lunch time we were treated to an absolutely gorgeous three course lunch in the seventh heaven restaurant… the food was amazing! You can choose a starter, main and dessert from the menu and then there is a buffet that you can just help yourself to as well! Every single bite was so delicious! We just stuck to a jug of water with our lunch but the drinks menu had everything from orange juice, smoothies and lots of different wines. So plenty of choice!

Our day at Eden Hall was wonderful, we came away incredibly relaxed and happy. I am already planning our return and I’m hoping my sisters Cathy and Dawn will join me for the day one day soon too!

Our day didn’t end there; the next part of the package included a stay at Manor Court… the review for that will follow very soon!

* I received a lovely discount on my majestic stay package and treatments but I would happily pay the full price and will do so in future!
