Warner Bros Festive Package…

warner bros

The lovely people at Warner Bros sent me a lovely package just before Christmas with some goodies for the kids and a couple of Blu-Ray discs. I was really excited to receive this package because I have been dying to watch The Dark Knight Rises for a while and I wasn’t able to get to the cinema while it was showing! Anyway the two Blu-ray’s that they sent were The Dark Knight Rises and New Years Eve. I will admit to not have watched New Years Eve; I’m waiting until James is away one night and I will sit and have a girlie film night on my own as he really is not interested in it 😉 But he couldn’t get The Dark Knight Rises into the DVD player quick enough!

I LOVED the Dark Knight Rises! Loved it! I cannot recommend it highly enough! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and I just LOVE all the characters apart from the creepy mask guy(Bane)!! I did get a bit de ja vu towards the end and felt like I had seen it before but my other half assures me that I haven’t so I’m not sure what happened there! But yes make sure you watch it definitely! If you haven’t seen the The Dark Knight either make sure you watch that one too because that is AWESOME!

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.

But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

The other film is New Years Eve; like I said I haven’t watched this yet but will be doing soon! I have heard that it’s really good. My friend Helen at The Crazy Kitchen has reviewed it here.

NYE_BD_2DSKEW “New Year’s Eve” celebrates love, hope, forgiveness, second chances and fresh starts, with intertwining stories told amidst the pulse and promise of New York City on the most dazzling night of the year.

Warner Bros Halloween Goodies…

warner bros

It was Halloween last week and Boo decided she wanted to be a cat; so bad Mummy that I am left it until the very last minute; there I am driving all over Nottingham trying to find some ears! I finally found some in Asda & rushed back home to get the rest of the costume ready…

Tap tap tap goes the door! The postman is stood there with a box I had been expecting from Warner Bros with our Halloween Goodies in and would you believe a bloody CAT MASK!!!! 😉

She may have been forced to pose for this photo; what you can’t tell? ;)

So anyway that saved me a face painting job – thanks Warner Bros! Inside our package were two fab DVD’s Big Top Scooby Doo! and  Tom and Jerry Tricks & Treats.

When Scooby and the gang hear of a werewolf plaguing a traveling circus, they go undercover as circus performers to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Things soon go from bad to worse when the number of werewolves starts increasing, and the members of Mystery Inc. realize they might be in danger of turning into these monstrous beasts themselves!

Tom and Jerry are in for spooks galore in this monster collection. With 20 eerie episodes plus two bonus episodes, your goodie-bag will be overflowing with fun! Tricks and treats are at every turn, from ancient Egypt to Transylvania, from creepy houses to haunted forests, the hair-raising hilarity is non-stop! Our favorite cat and mouse mingle with ghosts, mummies, werewolves and witches in these terrific tales. Of course Tom and Jerry have a bounty of tricks up their own sleeves as well! Fear not, the chase is on! It’s a scare-iffic good time for the whole family!

Both fab DVD’s – who doesn’t love a bit of  Tom & Jerry or Scooby Doo! Boo loves the spookiness of Scooby Doo and solving the mystery before anyone else whilst Bugs loves the silliness of Tom & Jerry! Perfect DVD’s for the whole family! Mum & Dad love to relive their childhood through them! :)

The Vampire Diaries

warner bros

I was recently sent The complete first season of  The Vampire Diaries – Love Sucks on Blu-Ray Disc by Warner Bros. Lero is a huge vampire fan so this has gone down extremely well with him!! I’m not that great at sitting still and watching TV so for me to have watched the first few episodes and loved it is amazing! Well it has some great eye-candy in it which helps he he 😉

For over a century, I have lived in secret. Until now. I know the risk, but I have to know her.” Dark, brooding, pulsing with blood-lust and transcendent with romance.

It’s Elena’s first day back at Mystic Falls High School since the tragic death of her parents. Along with her Aunt Jenna, Elena tries her best to look after her troubled younger brother, Jeremy, and salvage what family they have left. The first day is already shaping up to be a struggle for Elena until she meets the mysterious new kid at school, Stefan. Elena is touched that he can relate to what she’s going through. What Elena doesn’t know is that Stefan is a vampire, constantly resisting the urge to taste her blood. As their undeniable connection grows deeper, Stefan’s dangerous older brother, Damon, shows up to wreak havoc on the town of Mystic Falls – and claim Elena for himself.

The Vampire Diaries started as a series of must-read novels by L.J. Smith and has become a must-watch television hit.

This 4 Disc, 22 episode season one offers unforgettable characters, living and undead. They are vampire brothers Stefan and Damon, one good and one evil; Elena, a double for the beauty both brothers loved some 150 years earlier; plus Jeremy, Bonnie, Matt and more denizens of Mystic Falls, VA. All are caught up in a spellbinding web of secrets, passion and terror.

You can find The Vampire Diaries on Amazon priced at just £11.98; which I think for 990 mins of great TV is a bargain!

SCOOBY-DOO! Spooky Games

warner bros

If you’re a big fan of Scooby Doo then you won’t want to miss out on the new DVD released on 16 July 2012 – a special Olympic Scooby Doo which is full of spooky moments! I absolutely love Scooby Doo and Spooky Games didn’t fail to please Boo & I; even Daddy enjoyed guessing who the ‘baddy’ was! As usual though Mummy got it right from the get go 😉 The Spooky Games episode is 23 minutes long and kept us very entertained the whole length of it.

The Full DVD length is 113 minutes and the rest of the DVD is filled with Hanna-Barbera’s competitive calssic Scooby’s All-Star Laff-A-Lympics! Three teams enter and all fun breaks loose. Grab a seat as the Scooby Doobies, the Yogi Yahooeys and the Really Rottens get ready, get set and get into more eccentric events! From bullfights to mountain climbing, roller skating to leprechaun hunting, trek the globe to catch all of the animated antics! Special guest stars abound, including Fred Flinstone and Barney Rubble.

Definitely worth a watch for the Spooky Games episode but unfortunately Boo lost interest after the new episode. The rest does seem a little dated now 😉

Warner Bros. sent us this DVD for review purposes.

LEGO® Batman™ 2: DC Super Heroes

Review/ warner bros

Batman and Robin return in LEGO® Batman™ 2: DC Super Heroes, the highly-anticipated sequel to the best-selling LEGO® videogame of all time, which to date has sold more than 11 million units worldwide.  This time the Dynamic Duo join forces with other famous DC super heroes including Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern to stop the notorious villains Lex Luthor and The Joker from destroying Gotham City.   Batman fans of all ages will enjoy a new and original story filled with classic LEGO videogame action and humour as players fight to put the bad guys back behind bars.

Boo is only 5 yet she has been having an enormous amount of fun playing on Lego Batman with her big brother & Daddy. We all love the Lego games range at our house; We recently had an obsession with Lego Harry Potter but Batman has taken over for a while now! It is a really great game which is easy enough for little ones to understand but tricky enough to baffle us grown ups at times 😉

We love that it isn’t just Batman & Robin but lots other Superheroes too such as  Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern – if you have enjoyed other ‘Lego’ games then I would highly recommend this one too! You can find more details and purchase the game here.

Warner Bros. sent us this game for review purposes.

With Love from Warner Bros.

warner bros

Picture my face on Valentine’s Day when I had just popped out to the shop to come back to the house and there were a trail of little red hearts leading to my front door and a sorry you were out card on my door mat! I thought long and hard about who my secret admirer was, James admitted that it wasn’t him and I think it made him rather jealous to be honest LOL

Anyway it wasn’t a secret admirer… It was the lovely people at Warner Bros. with a lovely Valentines gift for me! My parcel had split a little and lots of little red hearts were tumbling out he he!

Inside my gorgeous red box filled with little red hearts was a lovely bag, compact mirror, bag of maltesers (yummy) and some FAB films on Blu-Ray and DVD!
Lero and I watched Crazy Stupid Love together at the cinema and we loved it so I am really looking forward to watching that again! I haven’t seen the other three Blu-Rays.
I was so pleased to get The Bodyguard on DVD, it was one of my fav films as a teenager so I can’t wait to watch that again and I haven’t seen the other two so I have a great collection of Rom Coms to watch!
Now I just need to get James out of the house so I can snuggle up with a blanket, a big box of chocs and a bottle of wine and I’ll be in heaven :O) Thank you Warner Bros.
