A Trip to Champneys with Next

Adventures/ blogging/ Event

Last week thanks to the wonderful people at Next I got to to go on an overnight spa at Champneys Springs with some other lovely bloggers. I’ve been to quite a few events with Next now but this is the first without the kids and it was lovely to go away for the night and have some quality relaxing time with some very lovely people.  It was so nice just to feel like a person and not a Mum for a little while.

Guess the blogger ;)

We all sat around talking for the majority of the day and eating cake of course… although it did have beetroot in it so it wasn’t too unhealthy 😉 The cafe did the most amazing smoothies so it was just an absolute pleasure to sit and get to know some lovely bloggers and the lovely ladies from Next of course! There were 10 bloggers in total and only 2 that I had not met before so it was great to catch up and also meet two very lovely ladies (Tigerlilly Quinn and School Gate Style).

My room

My room was absolutely lovely, very spacious and the bed was so comfy! I was a bit sad it didn’t have a double bed but seriously it was so comfy (and I was so drunk) that I didn’t need one!  The bathroom had lovely Champneys products in that smelt amazing! I have always loved Champneys products and hadn’t tried the citrus blush range before but now I am hooked!

Treats in our room

Next also left us a treat in our room. A gorgeous gift box containing a gorgeous candle, pair of pyjamas and a lovely scarf! We were really spoilt! These are all available to buy on the website, the PJ’s are so gorgeous and soft… you can see them at the bottom of this post (number 3) :O)

Taking 5 on my bed

For my treatments I had a session in the thalassotherapy pool which was lovely but I found the jets a bit too harsh for my skin a few times and then I had an amazing massage and a facial, after which I went back to my room for a snooze before dinner.

Dinner was a three course meal in the restaurant with lots of prosecco and wine. The company was just wonderful and the whole time I felt incredibly relaxed and happy… and a little drunk 😉

I mentioned above the new bloggers that I met so I just wanted to mention the other lovely ladies that I got to spend sometime with again; there were… The Ana Mum DiaryLove Chic LivingMummy Daddy Me, What Lottie LovesA New AdditionMummy Bird and Mummy Constant – a fantastic group of ladies! Pop over ot their blogs and read all about the #NextMums event too :)

Getting a gorgeous pair of pyjamas (my first since I became an adult I might add!) has really put me in the mood to buy lots of snugglies for the Winter. So I thought I’d share my top 3 pyjamas from the Next website… perfect for those long lazy weekends for snuggling up with the kids :)

  1. Next PyjamasNavy Check Pyjamas £25
  2. Grey Check Flannel Bottoms £16 & Faux Fur Knit Slipper Socks £15
  3. Pink Cosy Brushed Pyjamas £22

I cannot believe I haven’t owned any PJ’s since I was a child, I always wore nighties but I am now a changed woman! PJ’s all the way for me now!

A huge thanks to the lovely people at Next for taking us on our overnight spa and really spoiling us!! :O)

#NextKids Summer ’14 Preview

Adventures/ Event

Yesterday we headed down to Leicester to the Next Headquarters for the #NextKids Summer ’14 Preview. We arrived at HQ a bit earlier so we were the first to get there and we had a good chance to look around and enjoy the mock shop and munch on delicious pastries and drink lots of coffee and juice! I love going to Next kids events, they always make you feel so welcome and try and do their best to accommodate the kids!

I tweeted this photo of myself before we set off just in case anyone wanted to say hi whilst we were there. I love this dragonfly top which I was wearing and yes it is Next (which I did actually purchased myself, as well as the jeans and shoes I was wearing) – Bugs was really into looking at the clothes and really enjoyed trying things on and modelling for me and the photographer who was going round taking pics. Boo really wasn’t that interested in having her photo took, I think she felt a bit self conscious but she loved the clothes and shoes that were on display.

Such gorgeous clothes for little girls.

We loved getting to view the Summer 14 range and meeting up with some lovely blogger friends. After the preview we all jumped on the bus to a restaurant where we were treated to nice food and wine! Which I was very ready for!

Boo & Bugs loved their goodie bags which had sun hats and sunglasses in; they were very happy to model those for me…

Adventures/ Event

At the weekend we were invited to the launch of Lego Galaxy Squad at the National Space Centre. We had a fantastic day out, Bugs was amazed at everything in the Space Centre and Boo loved learning all about the new range of Lego.

Here are some photos from our day out…

Dad and Boo get busy with Galaxy Squad Lego.

Galaxy Squad is a brand new range of Lego consisting of 9 brilliant new sets!  The smallest set being Space Swarmer for ages 7-14 years priced at just £7.99 and the largest being Galactic Train for ages 9-14 years priced at £79.99.

Boo (with her Daddy’s help) had a go at the Swarm Interceptor (7-14 yrs, RRP £17.99) while we were at the event and she came away bitten by the Lego bug, I now have a huge list of sets that she would like!

If you are Lego fans you will want to check out Lego Summer at the National Space Centre, it’s running until the 1st of September and you can have lots of fun building your own Lego creations, making your own Lego movies and much more!

A huge thanks to Lego and the National Space Centre for inviting us to this fab event! We had a brilliant time exploring the Space Centre and playing with the new Lego sets :)

Go Wild with Next

Event/ out and about

A couple of weeks ago we got to attend the Go Wild with Next event at ZSL London Zoo! I had never been to London Zoo before and decided that I would brave it on my own with the two little ones.
10 Next treated us to a preview of their new range, a lovely play area for the kids, a meerkat viewing and a lovely lunch as well as some fab goodie bags! It was a really lovely day and I am so pleased I made the effort and took the kids! The journey on the train was just over 1.5 hours each way and then we got a cab straight to the Zoo so it wasnt too stressful!

We also got to chat to the designers behind the children’s wear who were very lovely and open to our suggestions!

The MAD Blog Awards Party!

Awards/ Event

Some of you may know that I was a finalist in the MAD blog awards this year and on Friday I took a trip down to London for the MAD blog awards party!  I treated myself to a new hair cut & colour and had my nails done on Thursday as I wanted to make sure I was looking my best 😉

Pretty nails.

The very nice people at Skoda sent us a Citygo to travel down in, Jen from Love Chic Living drove us there whilst myself & Becky from Family Budgeting helped navigate 😉 We arrived at the Radisson Blu Edwardian on Bloomsbury Street about 3pm which left plenty of time to chat to some fabulous people before I went off to get my hair and make up done at 4pm.

I had my hair styled by the lovely people at Regis & they even let me have a few styling products to try from their Designline range which I already love as you can see here!  I had my make-up done by a lovely lady called Rose Magnall using Arbonne products; she also did me some false eyelashes which looked awesome; I’ve never tried them before and I was really really happy with them! Obviously after all this pampering I was feeling rather glamorous and ready for a good night out 😉

Just had my hair and make-up done!

All dressed up with somewhere to go…

I was also given a lovely watch bracelet to wear on the night and take home with me afterwards from Find Watches.  I really love this; perfect colours for me and really really pretty! I haven’t taken it off since Friday!

Ladies Gold Plated Heart Charm Bracelet Watch

Unfortunately I didn’t win my category  I really didn’t expect to; to be quite honest but cannot deny feeling a little bit disappointed. However it was such a lovely atmosphere that nothing could have spoilt my good mood and I continue to enjoy myself until the early hours.

Great Food!

Great Company! Me & Mammy Woo.

It was wonderful to get to meet so many wonderful bloggers and to join in congratulating everyone who won awards – a very tearful moment was when Multiple Mummy won her category and her lovely husband came and collected it for her. I am so pleased to hear that she is continuing to get better and really cannot wait to see her back blogging and hopefully collecting her own award next year!

A huge thank you to Sally and the MAD Blog Awards team for making Friday night so special for everyone of us :)

Red Hot World Summer Cake Off

Yesterday we visited Red Hot World Buffet & Bar in Nottingham for their Summer Cake Off! This was a really fun morning that involved everyone decorating their own cake and the staff at Red Hot then went on to pick a winner… which unfortunately wasn’t us; but I have just about got over that now 😉 It’s always lovely to go to events such as this to catch up and meet with other bloggers, I had the pleasure of seeing Amanda & Emily again and meeting Claire for the first time yesterday! It was lovely to see you ladies – I hope you enjoyed it as much as Me & my two little terrors did!

Boo decorating her cake for the Cake off! :)

Bugs sat and ate cake lol

Red Hot World Buffet & Bar have just launched their own range of incredibly delicious cakes that you can buy online, by phone or even over the counter!

Some of the beautiful cakes available.

The highlight of the morning was watching Darshan Choudhari the Head Pastry Chef  make one of his delicious cheesecakes… although I very much doubt he could have done it without the assistance of my beautiful daughter 😉

Boo helping Darshan Choudhari make his cheesecake :)

We all got to try a piece of the cheesecake and it was really scrumptious! Even my fussy pair ate a big piece between them!

The gorgeous cheescake we got to try! Decorated by Boo ;)

I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one of these cakes! I think they are such great value! You can choose from Black Forest Gateau, Dark Chocolate Truffle Cake, Carrot Cake, Strawberry Cheesecake, Opera Gateau, Florida Gateau, Pineapple Passion and Caramel & Brownies Sensation. They all sound and look delicious! You just have to look at my photos to see how wonderful they are and prices from £11.49-£15.99 They would make a brilliant birthday cake for someone special!

Boo’s finished cake… A winner in my eyes ;)

By the end of the event my two were hyperactive and Bugs was foaming at the mouth as he had been storing marshmallows in his cheeks… Thank you so much to everyone involved in the organising of yesterday! We really did enjoy it! The staff were all so lovely and friendly and I cannot wait to go and have a meal there!
