Back to School 2017 Edition

Back to School

I love getting the little ones ready to go back to school. I never really go crazy buying loads of new stuff but there are some things that they just need to have. I’ve stopped buying stationery because they just end up with so much that they never use. I always make sure what we do buy is quality and will last them as long as possible, so I’m happy to pay that bit extra to ensure great products.

Here are our back to school must haves for 2017!

My kids almost always need a new pair of shoes every summer and I love to buy them a good quality pair. Startrite Shoes have some really fantastic quality, sturdy school shoes that seem to last better than most we have tried. Bugs has been putting the Aqua Warrior, Black Leather Boys Riptape School Shoes through their paces for the last couple of months. We used the paper foot gauges to measure his feet at home, delivery and returns are free so even if you don’t get the size right the first time you can easily return them and order another size without it costing you a penny. We did get the size right the first time though, the shoes fit him perfectly. If you follow the online instructions for printing and measuring you shouldn’t go far wrong.

These shoes actually have a scuff resistant toe bumper to help the shoes look good for longer and as you can see on the photos the shoes are in pretty good condition to say they have been worn for the last two months by a very active 6 year old.  They have rip tape fastening to make it easy for little ones to get on and off. This pair starts from £60.99 depending on what size you would need and we would highly recommend them. Head over to Startrite Shoes and check out their huge range of school shoes. They currently have 30% off plimsolls and trainers when you buy a full priced pair of school shoes.

We were introduced to Smash a few years ago now and have been faithful ever since, this year we are really happy to see the launch of their BLUE IQ Antibacterial lining in all of their insulated lunch bags. BLUE IQ is a smart antimicrobial lining that inhibits the growth of uncontrolled bacteria, mould and mildew that can come through normal cleaning. Its wipe clean formula helps reduce smells and stains and helps your lunch box last longer. All of the above lunch bags and bottles are available to buy at Sainsburys. The kids are over the moon with their new lunch bags and bottles, and would you just look at that gorgeous lunch tote that they sent for me! I seriously need to go out to work everyday now just so I can take myself a packed lunch!

The Nude Food Movers range consists of a range of reusable plastic ware: lunch boxes, sandwich boxes and snack boxes. Each product has been designed with a space for everything to help build a healthy nutrious lunch without the need to use foil, cling film, sandwich bags etc.

All of the Nude Food Movers range are easy to open for little ones, I’ve never found them to leak and they are really easy to clean. My kids just love the snack and dip pots especially! You can buy the Nude Food Movers range from Amazon, Sainsburys, Tesco and Toys R US.

I have been using My Nametags for a good few years now and swear by them. The kids love being able to design their own and they last for so long! Each sheet of colour name tags contain 56 name tags and costs £11.95 + £1.00 P&P. I think this is fantastic value considering they will last for years.

See I love them so much I even have my very own Hello Kitty ones. I always opt for the colour stickers but you can get iron on labels too in either colour or black and white which are perfect for clothing. Head over to My Nametags and order yours today and they will be with you in plenty of time to go back to school.

Minecraft Rucksack

Bugs starts junior school this year so he will be needing his very own backpack. he was sent this Minecraft Creeper backpack to review earlier this year so he will be taking this with him. It’s a fantastic backpack and the perfect size to put everything he needs in it for his day at school.

You can’t go back to school without joining in with the latest playground craze can you?! My kids are all about fidget spinners and thumb chucks at the moment and I don’t see it ending soon. These products from Zing are perfect additions to their pockets.

I must admit I hate back to school shopping, but it seems less depressing if there is some fun stuff mixed in like some cool toys and a nice lunch box or stationery.
